Hanwha Life is continuing its social contribution efforts to foster IT talent in Vietnam through sustained support for education and innovation programs.
The company announced on April 14 that it officially sponsored the 7th Vietnam Informatics Olympiad, held from April 10 to 12 at the Korea-Vietnam Information and Communication Technology University (VKU) under Da Nang University.
The Vietnam Informatics Olympiad is a nationwide competition where talented middle and high school students compete in IT-related fields. Hanwha Life has supported the event for three consecutive years as part of its global corporate social responsibility program, “Future Plus.”
Key figures attending the finals included Lim Seok-hyun, Head of Planning at Hanwha Life, Huynh Cong Phap, President of VKU, and Shin Jeong-won, Head of Social Contribution Cooperation at ChildFund Korea.
The competition was organized into three tracks: artificial intelligence (AI), IT majors, and non-IT (basic). Notably, the AI track—introduced last year—was further enhanced this year, transforming the event into a practical platform for identifying and nurturing AI talent.
During the event, Hanwha Life also operated a campus tour program for local residents and students. Through career exploration booths within the VKU campus, participants were offered career counseling and hands-on job experiences, helping them better understand their aptitudes and plan future career paths.
The company is also supporting outstanding participants in advancing to the global stage. Last year’s winners were invited to participate in the “Hanwha Life Vietnam Fintech Talent Training Program” in Korea, providing them with opportunities to broaden their global perspectives.
Lim Seok-hyun stated that the Vietnam Informatics Olympiad serves as a gateway for IT talents to enter the broader ecosystem, adding that Hanwha Life will continue its support to help participants grow into key drivers of Vietnam’s financial and ICT industries.
Huynh Cong Phap noted that the Olympiad provides a platform for next-generation IT talents to fully demonstrate their potential, adding that Hanwha Life’s support has helped establish the competition as a leading AI talent platform in Vietnam.
Meanwhile, Hanwha Life plans to further strengthen its talent development initiatives by hosting academic exchange programs, hackathons, and fellowship programs for Vietnamese university students in August, aiming to expand networks of outstanding talent and support the country’s digital workforce development.
