ZUG, Switzerland—February 17, 2026—Unicity Labs, a protocol development company focused on infrastructure for autonomous software agents, said it has raised $3 million in seed funding. The round was led by Blockchange Ventures, with participation from Tawasal and Outlier Ventures.
The company said the funding will support development of the Unicity Protocol, which it describes as a peer-to-peer cryptographic architecture intended to help AI agents discover services, verify counterparties, and execute transactions without intermediaries. Unicity Labs also said it recently established the Unicity Foundation in Switzerland to oversee protocol governance, grant funding, and open-source development.
Unicity Labs said it is building systems designed for large-scale, continuous machine-to-machine activity, arguing that existing approaches force a choice between centralized platforms and blockchain-based networks that can face performance constraints when transaction volumes increase. The company’s leadership and investors said the protocol’s design aims to reduce bottlenecks associated with shared-ledger transaction processing by separating transaction activity from validation.
Mike Gault, CEO of Unicity Labs, said the company is positioning its work as underlying infrastructure rather than a consumer-facing marketplace. Matt Immerso, a general partner at Blockchange Ventures, said the firm invested based on Unicity’s approach to verification and validation.
Tawasal, which described itself as a communications “super app” in the Middle East, participated as a strategic investor. Eric Leandri, Tawasal’s CEO, said agent-driven purchasing could change how merchants reach buyers by shifting interactions from human-directed marketing to agent-to-agent transactions. Outlier Ventures’ CIO, Dimitrios Chatzianagnostou, said the company’s architecture reflects a broader view that agent commerce may not require a shared ledger.
Unicity Labs did not disclose valuation or additional terms of the seed round.
