Netmarble announced on November 10 that its new open-world action RPG, Seven Deadly Sins: Origin (developed by Netmarble F&C), has wrapped up its successful closed beta test (CBT) for global users.
The seven-day CBT took place from October 30 to November 6, targeting players across North America, Europe, and Asia. It was available on PC via Steam and PlayStation 5. Through this testing phase, Netmarble was able to comprehensively evaluate platform optimization, content quality, and service stability.
Survey results from participants revealed that over 93% of responders expressed their intention to continue playing the game after its official release. More than 85% of players positively evaluated core features, including graphics, storyline, and combat. Notably, high praise was given for the game's faithful reproduction of the original animation, exploration elements of the open-world, immersive story, tag-action combat, skill effects, and dynamic battle sequences.
Responses to multiplayer features also received favorable feedback. Participants appreciated the novel experience of wandering in the same field with other players, noting that the multiplayer elements blended naturally into the open-world. Comments such as “exploring with friends and enjoying the scenery” reflected their satisfaction.
During the CBT, mentions and search volume related to Seven Deadly Sins: Origin surged on global social media platforms like Google and X (formerly Twitter), indicating rising anticipation among international audiences.
A Netmarble spokesperson stated, “This test confirmed the high expectations and positive responses from global players. We will enhance overall quality—including UI/UX, control feel, and convenience features—based on the feedback received.” The company added, “Our priority remains delivering a refined user experience, and we will continue developing diligently until the official launch.”
Following the CBT, Netmarble will showcase a demo version of Seven Deadly Sins: Origin at ‘G-STAR 2025’ in BEXCO, Busan, starting November 13, along with various onsite events.
Scheduled for release on January 28, 2026, Seven Deadly Sins: Origin is an open-world action RPG inspired by the popular manga The Seven Deadly Sins, which has sold over 55 million copies worldwide. Players can freely explore the continent of Britannia, enjoy diverse combat styles through a tag system that allows hero swapping during battles, and combine characters and weapons for powerful attacks.
Netmarble is currently conducting global pre-registration campaigns, offering rewards such as the Skyward Breeze Twin Blades, 10 weapon upgrade materials, and 100,000 gold to participating users. Players can also register separately through Google Play and the App Store to receive additional benefits like character Tiora, ten gacha tickets, hero growth materials, and healing dishes.
Seven Deadly Sins: Origin will be simultaneously released on consoles, PC, and mobile devices worldwide. The console version will be available on PlayStation 5, while the PC version can be played via Steam. Users can add the game to their wishlist on official pages of each platform for updates. More detailed information is available on the official websites and brand pages.
