LG CNS is accelerating the artificial intelligence transformation (AX) of South Korea’s enterprise resource planning (ERP) market through a strategic partnership with SAP, aiming to lead the emerging AI-powered ERP segment.

On April 8, LG CNS and SAP jointly hosted the “Business AI for ERP Summit” at the Josun Palace Hotel in Seoul, where they unveiled next-generation ERP AX strategies built on SAP Business AI. The event brought together more than 200 participants from key industries, including manufacturing, logistics, retail, and telecommunications.

SAP Business AI integrates artificial intelligence into ERP systems that manage core enterprise functions such as finance, procurement, production, and supply chain operations. The technology enables automation of repetitive tasks while enhancing data-driven decision-making across organizations.

LG CNS has been strengthening its capabilities in this field through close collaboration with SAP. Since last year, the company has worked with SAP’s Asia-Pacific (APAC) division to train specialized talent. Building on this foundation, LG CNS established a dedicated “ERP AX Business Unit” earlier this year to expand its AI ERP consulting and implementation services.

With more than 30 years of experience delivering ERP systems across industries such as manufacturing, chemicals, retail, and aviation, LG CNS offers end-to-end services spanning consulting, implementation, operation, and optimization. Recently, the company has been advancing its “AX on ERP” strategy by incorporating cutting-edge technologies such as agentic AI, enabling enterprises to automate workflows and rapidly innovate business processes.

During the summit, both companies highlighted practical approaches to generating measurable outcomes through AI-enabled ERP. SAP noted that many organizations face an “AI value gap,” where investments in AI fail to deliver expected results, and emphasized the importance of embedding AI across enterprise-wide operations. LG CNS presented implementation strategies tailored to the Korean business environment, along with actionable deployment methods.

Real-world case studies from LG Innotek and CJ CheilJedang were also shared, demonstrating how companies can identify relevant use cases and translate them into tangible performance improvements.

The event also spotlighted “physical AI,” which combines robotics with artificial intelligence. LG CNS introduced the potential of integrating SAP’s robot-based AI service, “SAP Embodied AI,” with its own robotics platform to enhance automation and productivity in industrial settings.

The two companies continue to expand their strategic partnership. LG CNS has built extensive experience in SAP ERP implementations across various industries and has regularly participated in SAP’s global flagship event, SAP Sapphire. Notably, the company joined SAP’s Regional Strategic Services Partner (RSSP) program in the Asia-Pacific region last year, becoming the first Korean firm to do so.

An LG CNS official said AI should evolve beyond a tool to become embedded in organizational operating systems, adding that the company aims to redesign work processes based on AI agents and deliver tangible innovation outcomes through its collaboration with SAP.
