LONDON ㅡ Yellow has taken its Layer-3 trading protocol live on Ethereum mainnet, the latest sign that crypto infrastructure groups are still trying to build faster execution systems without giving up the transparency and settlement guarantees of public blockchains.
The London-announced rollout on March 17 allows participants to access services related to clearing, node operation and application infrastructure. Yellow says its protocol is built for real-time, non-custodial, cross-chain trading using off-chain state channels, a design aimed at reducing latency while retaining blockchain-based control over governance and settlement functions.
Under the structure now live on Ethereum, node operators can lock $YELLOW in the NodeRegistry to run Clearnode infrastructure, with the tokens serving as operational collateral. Protocol changes are handled through YellowGovernor, where proposals pass through a timelock process before execution. Developers, meanwhile, can register applications through the AppRegistry by posting $YELLOW as a security deposit that can be slashed under certain conditions.
The launch comes nine days after Yellow introduced its trading platform, yellow.pro, alongside the $YELLOW token on March 8. The company has also said its ecosystem includes more than 500 developer-built projects, although outside verification of active production usage remains limited
