SK AX is accelerating its push into the enterprise generative AI market through a new partnership with OpenAI, aiming to move beyond simple AI adoption toward full-scale “AI transformation” of corporate operations.
SK AX announced on May 14 that it signed a service partner agreement with OpenAI for enterprise AI business cooperation. The partnership centers on deploying customized enterprise AI environments based on ChatGPT Enterprise, tailored to each company’s security requirements and operational systems.
The two companies said they identified a growing gap between rising enterprise use of generative AI and the lack of integration with real business systems, which has limited measurable productivity gains. They also pointed to the rapid spread of so-called “shadow AI,” where employees independently use AI tools outside corporate oversight, creating new security and governance risks.
Under the partnership, SK AX plans to support companies not only in adopting AI technologies but also in redesigning their overall operational structures. The company said it will provide end-to-end enterprise AI services covering consulting, system integration, security architecture, employee training, and organizational change management.
A major focus will be the development of multi-agent AI systems and deeper integration with enterprise data infrastructure to increase workflow automation. SK AX aims to combine industry-specific expertise with enterprise system integration capabilities so that AI can function not merely as a support tool, but as an active operational agent within organizations.
OpenAI also highlighted SK AX’s strategic value in the Korean enterprise market, citing the company’s understanding of enterprise data structures and industry-specific operational systems as a key advantage for implementing AI in real business environments.
ChatGPT Enterprise is designed for large-scale document analysis, advanced data processing, and customized enterprise functions aimed at improving workplace productivity. With enhanced security and data governance features, the platform is increasingly being adopted across industries including finance, manufacturing, and the public sector.
