Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. announced today that it has completed the acquisition of FläktGroup, Europe’s largest HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning) company. The move is part of Samsung’s strategic effort to broaden its presence in the global HVAC and data center markets.

Following the acquisition, Samsung plans to utilize FläktGroup’s production and sales facilities to expand research and development efforts and strengthen its supply chain. The company intends to progressively integrate products and services to maximize synergies while maintaining FläktGroup’s existing management, personnel, and facilities. FläktGroup will continue to operate as an independent subsidiary, preserving its technological expertise and brand identity. Its subsidiaries—including Woods Air Movement (ventilation and fire safety systems), SEMCO (air handling and flow solutions), and SE-Elektronic (advanced automation systems)—will also become part of Samsung Electronics.

“This move represents a strategic step for Samsung to lead in the global HVAC and data center markets,” said TM Roh, President and Acting Head of Samsung’s Device eXperience (DX) Division. “By combining FläktGroup’s technological expertise with Samsung’s AI platforms, we aim to set industry benchmarks and deliver innovative solutions to our customers.”

Samsung intends to position its HVAC business as a new growth engine within the DX Division, with plans to invest in commercial HVAC solutions and expand into high-growth sectors such as AI-powered data centers. As demand for large-scale air conditioning systems increases across Korea, North America, and Europe — including in large factories, commercial complexes, marine, hospitals, and biopharmaceutical facilities — Samsung aims to build a robust regional supply chain and enhance service capabilities.

The company has also formed a joint venture with Lennox, a North American HVAC leader, to strengthen its market position in the region. The acquisition of FläktGroup is expected to further bolster Samsung’s expertise and competitiveness in HVAC solutions.

Additionally, Samsung plans to integrate FläktGroup’s advanced HVAC control systems with its building management platforms, such as SmartThings Pro and b.IoT, to develop new opportunities in smart buildings and energy efficiency.

Trevor Young, CEO of FläktGroup, expressed optimism about the partnership: “Joining Samsung will accelerate FläktGroup’s growth in global markets and drive technological innovation. The synergy between our companies will be a major milestone in developing future-oriented HVAC solutions.”

With over a century of industry experience, FläktGroup provides central air conditioning and precision cooling solutions for various sectors worldwide. The company operates more than ten production bases across Europe, the Americas, the Middle East, and Asia, and has participated in major projects like the Stargate Project. It has also developed customized solutions specifically for data centers and the rapidly growing AI industry. Moreover, FläktGroup has established a dedicated North American data center team to swiftly respond to US market demands and a global account team headquartered in Singapore to support key customers, ensuring proximity and ease of business.
