Structural Adhesives and Protective Coatings Demonstrate Capabilities Built on Korea's Defense Industry Experience
KCC is showcasing its advanced aerospace materials portfolio at the Farnborough International Airshow 2026, one of the world's leading aerospace and defense exhibitions, as the company accelerates its expansion into the global aerospace materials market.
The company announced that it is participating in the Farnborough International Airshow 2026, held in the United Kingdom from July 20 to 24, where it is exhibiting aerospace structural adhesives and military aircraft coating technologies.
The Farnborough International Airshow brings together major aircraft manufacturers, defense companies, aerospace component suppliers, and maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) providers from around the world. Through the exhibition, KCC aims to demonstrate its advanced materials technologies, strengthen relationships with global customers, and explore new business opportunities in the aerospace sector.
KCC is presenting two aerospace adhesive products and three military aircraft coating solutions. The featured products include the KAA1000 acrylic adhesive for aircraft nutplate bonding, the KEA1000 structural epoxy adhesive, the MIL-PRF-23377 epoxy primer, the MIL-PRF-85285 polyurethane topcoat, and the AMS-C-27725 aircraft fuel tank protective coating.
Among them, KAA1000 is an acrylic adhesive designed to secure aircraft nutplates by rapidly bonding a wide range of materials, including metals and plastics. The product offers an alternative to conventional welding and riveting processes, improving manufacturing efficiency while supporting the aerospace industry's growing demand for diversified supply chains.
The KEA1000 structural epoxy adhesive is engineered to bond aircraft structural components while filling microscopic gaps between parts. Designed for joining composite materials and metals, it maintains reliable adhesion across a wide operating temperature range from -55°C to 177°C, contributing to improved structural integrity and assembly quality.
KCC is also displaying coating solutions designed to enhance the durability and reliability of military aircraft. The MIL-PRF-23377 epoxy primer and MIL-PRF-85285 polyurethane coating protect aircraft exteriors against corrosion and harsh environmental conditions, helping maintain long-term durability under demanding operating environments.
Meanwhile, the AMS-C-27725 fuel tank protective coating safeguards aircraft fuel systems from exposure to aviation fuel, hydraulic fluids, engine oils, and other aggressive chemicals, providing superior chemical resistance, adhesion, and long-term reliability.
KCC has continued to expand its aerospace coatings and adhesive business by leveraging technologies developed through Korea's defense industry. The company has participated in developing protective coatings and adhesive materials for domestic aerospace programs, including the KF-21 Boramae fighter aircraft, contributing to improved structural safety and protection for aircraft fuselages, fuel tanks, and key structural components.
KCC also maintains the leading position in South Korea's defense coatings market by supplying products to major defense manufacturers. Building on this foundation, the company is broadening its presence in the aerospace sector with high-value specialty materials.
As demand grows for advanced aerospace adhesives and protective coatings that meet stringent performance and quality standards, KCC plans to strengthen collaboration with global aircraft manufacturers, defense contractors, and aerospace suppliers while further enhancing its competitiveness in the international aerospace materials market.
A KCC official said, "The aerospace industry demands the highest levels of quality and reliability. Farnborough International Airshow provides an excellent opportunity to introduce KCC's aerospace adhesive and coating technologies to the global market and expand partnerships with international customers. We will continue investing in technology development to strengthen our competitiveness in advanced aerospace materials."
