TrackTrace is built in alignment with EU regulations for Digital Product Passport (DPP) under the framework of the Ecodesign for Sustainable Product Regulation (ESPR).

SCHWYZ, Switzerland, February 24, 2026 — The Hashgraph Group (THG), a Switzerland-based Web3 and AI technology engineering company operating within the Hedera ecosystem, announced the launch of TrackTrace, an enterprise-grade platform designed to support compliance with the European Union’s Digital Product Passport (DPP) requirements under the Ecodesign for Sustainable Products Regulation (ESPR).

TrackTrace is positioned as a fully managed solution aimed at improving supply chain transparency through real-time tracking of products, including data related to origin, sourcing practices, and carbon emissions. The platform is designed to generate verifiable audit trails covering product authenticity, sustainability credentials, durability, reparability, and other lifecycle attributes.

According to THG, TrackTrace uses cryptographically verified decentralized identifiers (DIDs) to link physical product events with digital records in a tamper-resistant environment. The system integrates THG’s existing IDTrust product for decentralized identity and verifiable credentials, alongside automated business workflows and immutable data records anchored on the Hedera distributed ledger network.

Hedera is governed by a council of global organizations that includes companies such as Dell, Deutsche Telekom, EDF, FedEx, Google, Hitachi, IBM, Mondelēz, and Standard Bank, among more than 30 members. THG states that TrackTrace leverages Hedera’s infrastructure to provide secure and energy-efficient data anchoring for enterprise use cases.

The ESPR framework introduces mandatory sustainability and circularity standards across regulated product categories within the EU. Under the regulation, products manufactured or placed on the EU market—including components and intermediate goods—will be required to maintain a Digital Product Passport. The DPP is expected to be accessible via mechanisms such as QR codes and to contain standardized data on origin, composition, environmental performance, and lifecycle information.

THG said TrackTrace has been developed with interoperability in mind, enabling integration with existing enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems and established supply chain standards. The company also stated that GDPR compliance has been incorporated into the platform’s architecture to allow mandatory data sharing without exposing sensitive intellectual property or personal data.

Stefan Deiss, Co-Founder and CEO of The Hashgraph Group, said the platform is intended to provide trusted digital infrastructure aligned with the EU’s sustainability objectives. The European Green Deal targets climate neutrality by 2050 and relies on transparent and verifiable data systems to support circular economy initiatives.

Micha Roon, Head of Engineering at THG, said the system leverages Hedera’s consensus mechanism to provide what the company describes as quantum-resistant data security. He added that each digital product passport generated through the platform is designed to be both immutable and verifiable across international supply chains.

The DPP regulation is scheduled to take effect in 2027 and is expected to apply initially to sectors including textiles, construction materials, batteries, and electronics. The requirement extends beyond EU-based manufacturers, affecting all products exported into the EU market. Companies seeking to maintain market access will need to incorporate DPP compliance into product design, documentation, and operational workflows.

According to PwC, the DPP initiative is likely to reshape how products are designed, produced, recycled, and managed within the EU. THG said it is collaborating with PwC and enterprise clients to support implementation efforts using the TrackTrace platform, with a focus on transparency, traceability, and auditability across full product lifecycles.

As the 2027 enforcement timeline approaches, regulatory alignment and digital traceability are emerging as strategic priorities for companies operating in or exporting to the European Union.
