Genesis BBQ Group has once again demonstrated its strong brand competitiveness.
BBQ, South Korea’s largest chicken franchise brand, announced on December 15 that it ranked 22nd overall in the “2025 Korea’s Top 100 Brands” list released by Brandstock. The ranking marks a one-place improvement from the previous year, while BBQ maintained its position as the No. 1 brand in the franchise category for the 10th consecutive year.
“Korea’s Top 100 Brands” is the country’s only brand value certification program, compiled using Brandstock’s proprietary brand valuation model. The rankings are calculated based on a combination of brand stock index data and nationwide consumer surveys, selecting the top 100 brands operating in South Korea.
Since becoming the first chicken franchise brand to enter the top 30 in 2019, BBQ has steadily improved its ranking, reaching 22nd place this year and maintaining a top-30 position for seven consecutive years.
The company is also posting strong growth in overseas markets. BBQ recently entered South Carolina, expanding its U.S. presence to 33 states out of 50. Globally, the brand operates approximately 700 stores across 57 countries, including Canada, Panama, Costa Rica, the Bahamas, Malaysia, China, Hong Kong, Japan, and Fiji, strengthening its position as a representative global K-food brand.
In addition, BBQ has established a European headquarters in Spain through cooperation with BLT F&B Group to accelerate its expansion in Europe. The company has also signed a master franchise agreement in South Africa, marking a full-scale entry into the African market.
A BBQ official said that the company’s continued growth both domestically and internationally has contributed to the rise in brand value. The official added that BBQ will continue to build on quality and trust to further establish itself as a leading global brand representing K-food.
