Medical AI company Coreline Soft announced that it will participate in the European Congress of Radiology (ECR 2026), held from March 4 in Vienna, Austria, at the Austria Center Vienna (ACV), where it will present its hub-based operational model designed for the European lung cancer screening market.

Recently, Germany’s Federal Joint Committee (G-BA) proposed implementing low-dose CT (LDCT)-based lung cancer screening under statutory health insurance coverage, signaling the launch of a nationwide screening system. France is also advancing a roadmap to expand lung cancer screening at the national level by 2030.

These policy developments are fundamentally changing the role of medical AI. While algorithm accuracy once dominated competition, key evaluation criteria are shifting toward capabilities such as standardized interpretation, quality assurance (QA), automated follow-up management, and multi-center operational management for large-scale screening populations. AI is increasingly being redefined as a component of national screening infrastructure rather than simply an assistive diagnostic tool.

Coreline Soft has already participated as an AI partner in major lung cancer screening initiatives, including Germany’s HANSE project, France’s IMPULSION program, Italy’s RISP study, and the 4ITLR project involving five EU countries.

More recently, the company has been providing AVIEW LCS Plus, which enables simultaneous analysis of lung cancer, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), and coronary artery calcification (CAC) from a single CT scan, along with its centralized operational platform AVIEW HUB.

AVIEW HUB integrates LDCT data generated by regional screening centers and centrally manages processes such as primary and secondary readings, discrepancy reconciliation, structured report generation, and the calculation of statistical and quality management indicators in line with national standards. This framework positions AI not only as a tool for assisting image interpretation but also as operational infrastructure that supports the entire national screening workflow.

At ECR 2026, the company will also present research demonstrating the technological expansion of imaging AI. On March 5 from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. (local time), Clinical Research Lead Jang Ryeong-woo will present a study titled “Determining Pulmonary Function from Anatomic Data in Interstitial Lung Disease: Development and Validation of Estimated Forced Vital Capacity from CT Image Using Machine Learning.”

The study uses anatomical data derived from CT images to estimate forced vital capacity (FVC) through machine learning and validates the results. It demonstrates that imaging data can extend beyond lesion detection to predicting functional indicators, highlighting the potential for imaging AI to expand from diagnostic support to disease progression assessment and prognosis management in thoracic diseases, including lung cancer screening.

Currently, Coreline Soft’s AVIEW solutions have been deployed and are being used across multiple institutions, including major tertiary hospitals and public healthcare networks in Germany. This indicates that the technology has moved beyond pilot use at individual hospitals and entered real-world clinical deployment at key nodes of Germany’s lung cancer screening system.

Industry observers expect that in the European lung cancer screening market, the role of “operational partners” will become increasingly important beyond simple technology providers. As national screening programs become institutionalized, stable long-term contracts and recurring revenue structures are likely to strengthen, giving companies with multi-center operational experience and centralized management platforms a structural competitive advantage.

“European lung cancer screening has moved beyond the stage of technology introduction and is entering a phase focused on execution and standardization,” the company said. “Through our hub-based infrastructure strategy, we aim to support the real-world operation of national-scale screening programs.”

ECR 2026 will take place from March 4 to March 8 at the Austria Center Vienna (ACV) in Vienna, Austria. Coreline Soft will exhibit at Hall X1, Booth No.110.
