SK hynix announced on December 7 that it received two major honors at the Global Semiconductor Alliance (GSA) Awards 2025, held on December 4 in Santa Clara, California. The company won the Best Financially Managed Semiconductor Company Award in the over USD 1 billion category and the Outstanding Asia Pacific Semiconductor Company Award.
Recognized as one of the most prestigious awards in the semiconductor industry, the GSA Awards honor leading companies and individuals for excellence in leadership, financial performance, and industry impact. This marks SK hynix’s second win in the financial management category since 2017, and its first in the Asia-Pacific category.
According to SK hynix, the awards reflect its strong performance and rapid recovery from the semiconductor downturn two years ago, driven largely by its technological leadership in HBM and AI memory solutions. The company emphasized that it will continue pursuing robust growth while strengthening its position in the AI memory market.
SK hynix has achieved record-breaking earnings this year, with cumulative revenue reaching 64 trillion KRW and operating profit hitting 28 trillion KRW as of the third quarter. Its financial structure has also improved significantly, securing a net cash position with 27.9 trillion KRW in cash equivalents and 24.1 trillion KRW in borrowings.
To reinforce its leadership in AI memory, the company is accelerating major investments. The M15X fab in Cheongju is preparing for HBM mass production in the first half of next year, while construction of the first fab at the Yongin Semiconductor Cluster is progressing faster than initially planned.
Representing the company at the ceremony, Joosun Kim, President and CMO of AI Infra, said, “It is an honor to receive these awards on behalf of SK hynix. We will continue to lead growth in the AI market as a Full Stack AI Memory Creator by delivering differentiated technologies and creating new value with our customers.”
