LG Energy Solution announced on November 6 that its Better.Re solution was selected as a CES 2026 Innovation Awards winner in the advanced mobility category by the Consumer Technology Association (CTA).
Better.Re combines LG Energy Solution’s proprietary battery life‑prediction algorithms with roughly 1.2 billion kilometers of real driving data and diverse operational inputs such as charging and parking behavior to improve battery longevity.
The CES Innovation Awards, presented annually by the CTA ahead of the world’s largest tech and consumer electronics show, recognize the most innovative products and services.
Better.Re operates in two modes: user‑guided and control. The user‑guided mode analyzes 16 driving habit factors that affect battery degradation and delivers personalized management guidance to help drivers adjust habits and slow battery wear. The control mode monitors battery condition in real time and intervenes before degradation accelerates. Applied together, the technology can delay the point at which battery capacity falls below 70% by up to twice as long, reducing replacement cycles and improving long‑term reliability.
Since 2009, LG Energy Solution has supplied cells for about 15 million electric vehicles, accumulating more than 8 billion battery cells and a vast dataset. The company says this scale underpins industry‑leading data analytics capabilities and numerous patents related to advanced battery management system (BMS) technologies.
Lee Dah‑hoon, Head of BMS Development Group at LG Energy Solution, said the firm will continue advancing long‑life management technologies such as battery life prediction and safety diagnostics to increase customer value and strengthen competitiveness in the BaaS (Battery as a Service) market.
