Company Aims to Expand Global Partnerships and Strengthen Position as an Innovative Biopharmaceutical Leader

Celltrion will participate in BIO International Convention 2026, the world’s largest biotechnology business event, to highlight its artificial intelligence (AI)-driven drug development capabilities and next-generation therapeutic pipeline while seeking new global partnership opportunities.

The event will be held from June 22 to 25 in San Diego, California, bringing together leading pharmaceutical companies, biotechnology firms, investors, research institutions, and licensing professionals from around the world. More than 1,500 companies and organizations and over 20,000 industry participants are expected to attend this year's convention.

Celltrion, which has participated in BIO USA for 17 consecutive years since 2010, will operate an independent exhibition booth spanning approximately 139 square meters. The company plans to use the event as a strategic platform to present its future growth vision, strengthen its global network, and explore business development opportunities.

Unlike previous years, Celltrion intends to place particular emphasis on its transition beyond biosimilars toward innovative drug development. The company will showcase its AI-powered drug discovery technologies, antibody-drug conjugate (ADC) programs, and multispecific antibody pipeline, which are expected to serve as key growth drivers in the coming years.

Located within the event’s AI Zone, Celltrion’s booth will feature a range of AI-based technologies, including novel target discovery and portfolio expansion platforms, AI-driven multispecific antibody design, in silico developability assessment technologies, and its proprietary data-driven research platform, Healthcare Intelligence Bank.

The company has been utilizing AI technologies to predict and evaluate antibody candidates, assess manufacturability and immunogenicity, and identify promising drug candidates at an early stage of development. By integrating advanced analytics and multimodal data, Celltrion aims to improve research efficiency, shorten development timelines, and increase the likelihood of clinical success.

In addition to AI-based innovation, Celltrion will actively promote its ADC and multispecific antibody programs to global pharmaceutical companies, biotechnology firms, and investors. The company views these therapeutic modalities as core components of its long-term growth strategy and is accelerating development efforts across both areas.

Expanding global partnerships will be another major objective during the convention. Celltrion plans to hold a series of meetings with pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies to explore opportunities in licensing, co-development, technology collaborations, and pipeline expansion. The company will also seek strategic partnerships with suppliers and technology providers to further enhance its manufacturing and development capabilities.

Industry experts view Celltrion’s participation as a reflection of its broader strategic transformation. Having established a strong position in the global biosimilar market, the company is now seeking to leverage its research, manufacturing, and commercialization expertise to expand into innovative therapeutics.

“Global pharmaceutical companies are increasingly investing in AI-powered drug discovery and next-generation antibody technologies,” said an industry analyst. “Celltrion’s ability to combine its proven development and manufacturing capabilities with emerging technologies could strengthen its competitiveness in the innovative drug market.”

Another industry observer noted that strategic partnerships formed at BIO USA often serve as catalysts for future licensing deals and collaborative development programs, making the event an important opportunity for companies seeking global expansion.

Celltrion officials said the company aims to demonstrate not only its technological capabilities but also its long-term vision of evolving into a global innovative biopharmaceutical company.
