Netmarble’s newly launched MMORPG “SOL: enchant” has made an impressive debut, reaching the top of the revenue rankings on both Korea’s Apple App Store and Google Play Store less than a day after its release.
According to Netmarble on June 19, the game climbed to No. 1 on the Apple App Store’s top-grossing chart within hours of its official launch and subsequently secured the top position on Google Play, completing a sweep of the country’s two largest mobile app marketplaces.
The strong launch performance highlights robust user interest in the title and positions the game as one of the most notable MMORPG releases of the year in South Korea.
Industry analysts say the achievement reflects continued demand for high-quality MMORPG content despite growing competition in the mobile gaming sector. The game’s simultaneous support for both PC and mobile platforms is also believed to have contributed to its rapid user adoption.
“SOL: enchant” distinguishes itself through its unique “Divine Authority” system, which introduces new gameplay mechanics designed to offer players greater strategic choices and character progression options. The game was developed by Alt9, a studio founded by key members of the development team behind the hit MMORPG Lineage M, and is published by Netmarble.
Market observers note that a successful launch could provide a meaningful boost to Netmarble’s gaming portfolio and strengthen its position in the highly competitive MMORPG segment.
“The first few days after launch are critical indicators of market reception,” said an industry analyst. “The key challenge now will be maintaining player engagement through stable service operations and regular content updates.”
To celebrate the game’s strong performance, Netmarble announced a series of in-game rewards and special events for players. Users will receive premium summoning tickets and growth-related items, while limited-time events will increase rewards from boss monsters and offer exclusive items to players who achieve key milestones.
The company is also running server-based progression events aimed at encouraging competition and enhancing the early gameplay experience.
With several major game publishers preparing new releases later this year, industry experts expect competition in Korea’s MMORPG market to intensify further. Nevertheless, the early success of “SOL: enchant” suggests that the title has secured a strong foothold in the market.
A Netmarble official said, “We are grateful for the tremendous support from players following the launch of ‘SOL: enchant.’ We will continue to provide stable service and meaningful content updates to ensure the game delivers a long-lasting and enjoyable experience.”
