SINGAPORE — SUNRATE announced on March 18 the launch of its 2026 Global Future Leaders (GFL) Program at the annual INSEAD Tech Symposium, introducing a two-year management trainee scheme aimed at graduates and early-career professionals interested in fintech and treasury-related roles.

The initiative comes as payments companies face growing competition for younger talent with international exposure and cross-functional experience. SUNRATE said the programme is designed to provide participants with experience across multiple business functions, overseas teams and senior-level mentoring over a structured two-year period.

According to the company, participants will rotate through international and cross-functional assignments, gaining exposure to eight core business functions and opportunities to work with teams across nine global office locations. The programme also includes one-on-one mentorship from senior leaders and formal training intended to support professional development.

SUNRATE said the scheme is intended to prepare participants for longer-term roles in global payments and treasury management. It added that selected candidates would work on business and operational projects across the company’s network while receiving compensation and benefits as part of the programme.

The launch reflects a broader effort across the financial technology sector to build leadership pipelines internally as cross-border payments and treasury management grow more complex and internationally distributed.

Founded in 2016, SUNRATE operates a payment and treasury management platform for business clients and says it serves companies in more than 190 countries and regions. The company is headquartered in Singapore and has offices in Hong Kong, Jakarta, London and Shanghai.

SUNRATE also said it works with major financial institutions, including Citibank, Standard Chartered, Barclays and J.P. Morgan, and is a principal member of Mastercard, Visa and UPI.
