Strategic investment in Hire Corporation expands collaboration across medical devices, skin boosters, and post-treatment care

Partnership signals Amorepacific's evolution from a cosmetics company toward an integrated dermatology platform

Amorepacific Holdings is expanding beyond its traditional cosmetics business with a strategic investment in skincare medical device company Hire Corporation, marking a broader push into the rapidly growing medical aesthetics market. More than a financial investment, the partnership reflects the company's ambition to build an integrated skin health ecosystem that combines medical devices, skincare, and post-procedure care.

The company announced on July 27 that it had signed an investment agreement with Hire Corporation to strengthen collaboration in the beauty and medical aesthetics sectors.

Founded in 2021, Hire Corporation specializes in aesthetic medical devices and leverages an extensive network of physicians to drive product development and global expansion. Its flagship device, HILO WAVE, is currently marketed in South Korea, Japan, Indonesia, and Vietnam, with additional overseas expansion underway.

Collaboration Across the Entire Value Chain

The partnership brings together Hire Corporation's expertise in aesthetic medical devices, physician-led research, and global key opinion leader (KOL) networks with Amorepacific's dermatological research capabilities and skincare technologies. The two companies plan to collaborate across the entire value chain—from product planning and research and development (R&D) to distribution and marketing.

The scope of cooperation extends beyond traditional cosmetics to include skin boosters, cosmeceuticals, aesthetic medical devices, post-treatment skincare products, hospital and clinic distribution, as well as joint research on ingredients and materials.

Kim In-yong, CEO of Hire Corporation, said the partnership would combine the company's expertise in medical aesthetics with Amorepacific's dermatological research capabilities to develop next-generation beauty and medical solutions.

Lee Sang-mok, CEO of Amorepacific Holdings, said the company aims to deliver new customer experiences in the global beauty and medical aesthetics market by integrating dermatological science with advanced medical device technologies.

Beyond Cosmetics: The Rise of Integrated Skin Health Solutions

The partnership reflects a broader transformation in the global beauty industry. While competition was once driven primarily by functional cosmetics and brand strength, it is increasingly shifting toward integrated skin health solutions that combine medical devices, clinical procedures, regenerative technologies, and post-treatment care into a seamless customer experience.

As more consumers combine professional dermatological treatments with home skincare, beauty companies are increasingly seeking to strengthen their capabilities in medical technologies and physician networks, expanding beyond conventional cosmetics into comprehensive skin health management.

The significance of this investment extends well beyond a cosmetics company's entry into the medical device sector. It reflects a broader structural shift in which competitive advantage is increasingly defined not by individual products but by integrated skin health solutions.

As medical devices, dermatology, AI-powered skin diagnostics, and personalized skincare continue to converge, companies capable of connecting diagnosis, treatment, recovery, and daily care into a seamless ecosystem are likely to lead the next phase of the beauty industry's evolution.

Amorepacific Holdings' investment represents a strategic step in that direction, signaling its transformation from a cosmetics manufacturer into a dermatology-based integrated skin health solutions company. In the emerging beauty economy, success will depend less on what a company sells than on how completely it can design and deliver the entire skin health journey.
