Samsung C&T’s construction division has announced a strategic roadmap to transition into an 'AI Native' construction company where all processes and decision-making are driven by artificial intelligence. This was revealed on November 12 during their event, '2025 AI Day', which was themed "Build the Future with Intelligence" and held at Samsung C&T’s headquarters in Gangdong-gu, Seoul.

The event, aimed at sharing AI project achievements and industry trends, was attended by over 400 participants, including key executives like President and CEO Oh Se-chul, and Yoon-sik Kim, Enterprise Lead at AWS Korea, a key AI innovation partner.

In his welcome address, President Oh highlighted the growing significance of AI in managing complex and large-scale construction projects. He encouraged viewing AI as a strategic partner by integrating the company’s extensive experience and data from numerous global projects with AI technology.

Executive Vice President So Byung-sik, head of Engineering Innovation at Samsung C&T, delivered the keynote on AI technology advancements and Samsung C&T’s AI-driven innovation strategies. He outlined three key pillars for AI innovation: Accumulation of Knowledge, Ensuring Proactivity, and Shifting Perspectives.

So emphasized developing AI as an 'expert' grounded in Samsung C&T's unique data and insights rather than merely consuming AI technology. He also advocated for proactive AI partnerships that inquire and suggest solutions, and measuring AI’s value strictly against Samsung C&T's problem-solving capabilities.

The data team at Samsung C&T showcased three major projects developed with AWS: the AI-ITB Reviewer for analyzing large bidding proposals, the AI-Contract Manager for minimizing legal risks, and the AI-Project Expert (AIPEX) for consolidating field data analytics. These innovations highlight the acceleration of AI integration within the company.

Yoon-sik Kim of AWS applauded these efforts, stating that global companies are increasingly focused on integrating AI with complex business data, processes, and security policies. He cited Samsung C&T's AI Agent projects as exemplary in achieving global AI success.

During the '2025 AI Day', Samsung C&T also unveiled its step-by-step roadmap towards becoming an 'AI Native' construction company. Beginning next year, AI tools like the AI-ITB Reviewer are set to be deployed across all construction projects. Over the next three years, Samsung C&T plans to implement an AI-centric approach across all construction operations and establish a robust AI platform.

A Samsung C&T representative noted, "The event was a commitment to sharing the current and future vision of AI technologies transforming the construction industry and fostering a collaborative growth environment with AI."
