On 12 January, Yellow Network announced its plans to launch a hybrid digital asset trading platform that combines elements of centralized and decentralized exchanges, utilizing its proprietary mesh-network infrastructure.
According to the company, the platform is designed to support self-custody and peer-to-peer trading, while also offering execution speeds and capital efficiency similar to those of centralized exchanges. The system will operate through a layer-three network that links multiple blockchains into a unified liquidity pool. Trades are intended to be processed off-chain through state channels, with final settlement recorded on-chain.
Alexis Sirkia, chairman of Yellow Network, said the platform is intended to address liquidity fragmentation and trade-offs between speed and security that exist in current digital asset markets. He said the goal is to support higher-frequency digital asset trading through its trading interface and infrastructure.
The platform uses a non-custodial design in which users retain control of their assets in their own wallets, rather than depositing funds with the exchange. The company said the system includes real-time risk management and continuous transaction reconciliation.
Yellow Network also plans to use a native token, $YELLOW, which it says will be used for service discounts, staking, and participation in governance within the platform’s ecosystem.
