Zodia Solutions and Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) announced in London on July 23 that they have integrated the TCS BaNCS Global Securities Platform with the Zodia Solutions platform, enabling banks to add digital asset execution, custody and settlement capabilities within the same operational infrastructure they already use for conventional securities.

The integration allows financial institutions using TCS BaNCS to manage the full lifecycle of digital asset transactions—from order instruction to on-chain settlement and reconciliation—without introducing separate operating environments. The announcement reflects a broader shift in institutional finance as banks increasingly seek to incorporate digital assets into existing securities infrastructure rather than build standalone systems.

The move reflects a broader shift in institutional digital finance. Banks are increasingly exploring how digital assets can be incorporated into established securities systems without creating separate operational structures or transferring control of sensitive functions to external platforms.

Digital assets move into traditional securities operations

TCS BaNCS is a SWIFT-certified platform serving institutions across the capital markets value chain, including custodians, investment banks, asset managers, fund managers and brokers.

The platform supports multiple legal entities, languages, business lines, asset classes and markets through a common application. Its integration with Zodia Solutions extends those capabilities to cryptocurrency and tokenized assets.

Banks using the combined infrastructure will be able to provide digital asset services through their existing client accounts and settlement systems. Zodia Solutions will supply the underlying wallet, settlement and transaction orchestration technology.

A central feature of the model is that the Zodia Solutions infrastructure can be deployed inside the bank’s own environment. This allows the institution to retain control of private keys, custody relationships, governance policies and operational decision-making.

Rather than treating digital assets as an isolated business line, the integration is intended to place them within the same controls and workflows used for conventional financial assets.

TCS BaNCS will manage the transaction lifecycle from the initial order instruction through on-chain delivery and reconciliation. The companies said this approach can help connect traditional securities settlement practices with the finality provided by blockchain networks.

Banks shift from experimentation to implementation

Craig Perrin, chief commercial officer of Zodia Solutions, said financial institutions are increasingly moving beyond the question of whether they should offer digital asset services.

“The question is how to offer digital asset services in production, across institutional client bases, and aligned to existing infrastructure,” Perrin said.

He added that Zodia Solutions was developed within Zodia Custody, drawing on the governance and operational controls of an institutional custodian.

Through the TCS BaNCS integration, banks can retain control of their keys and custody arrangements while managing the transaction lifecycle through the securities platform already used within their organizations.

The structure addresses one of the main barriers to institutional digital asset adoption: the difficulty of connecting blockchain-based assets with the governance, compliance, accounting and settlement systems used in regulated banking.

Many early digital asset systems were developed separately from traditional financial infrastructure. While this allowed rapid experimentation, it also created fragmented workflows and additional operational risks for institutions required to meet strict regulatory and fiduciary standards.

The Zodia Solutions–TCS BaNCS integration points toward a different model in which tokenized assets and cryptocurrencies are gradually incorporated into established banking architecture.

Tokenization increases pressure for unified infrastructure

The partnership comes as banks, asset managers and financial market infrastructure providers expand their interest in tokenized securities, deposits, funds and other financial instruments recorded on distributed ledgers.

As tokenization moves from pilot programs toward commercial deployment, institutions will need systems capable of supporting both traditional and blockchain-based assets without duplicating custody, settlement and reporting processes.

This transition is likely to make interoperability increasingly important. Banks will need to connect conventional securities platforms with multiple blockchain networks while preserving control over identity, private keys, compliance procedures and transaction approval.

Zodia Solutions positions itself as an institutional infrastructure provider supporting financial institutions in designing and operating regulated digital asset services. The company provides technology, infrastructure and professional services for wallet management, settlement and digital asset operations.

Tata Consultancy Services, part of the Tata Group, provides technology and consulting services to enterprises and financial institutions worldwide. The company reported consolidated revenue of more than $30 billion for the fiscal year ended March 31, 2026.

The integration suggests that the next phase of institutional digital asset adoption may be driven less by standalone cryptocurrency platforms and more by the gradual expansion of the systems already used by banks and capital markets institutions.

For financial institutions, the long-term question is no longer simply whether digital assets will become part of mainstream finance. It is whether banks can support them within the same secure, regulated and operationally integrated infrastructure that underpins the rest of the financial system.
