NCSoft announced that Guild Wars 2®’s expansion pack Visions of Eternity™ launched in North America and Europe on Oct. 28 (local date).
Developed by ArenaNet, NCSoft’s North America studio, Guild Wars 2 is a PC MMORPG. Visions of Eternity is the game’s sixth expansion, following last year’s Janthir Wilds™.
The expansion introduces Elite Specializations, adding new traits and skills to the game’s nine existing classes so players can develop characters in diverse ways tailored to preferred play styles. The system was finalized after a beta test held Aug. 20–27 and by incorporating player feedback.
Castora Island, the expansion’s setting, adds two new regions. The housing system Homesteads receives a Castora-themed set and a new Homestead Layout feature that lets players share their customized spaces with others. The mount Skimmer also gains improved combat and traversal capabilities, enabling freer exploration across land and sea on Castora Island.
NCSoft said it will deliver further content in a major 2026 update, including two additional regions, a 10-player raid, new legendary-tier equipment and quality-of-life features. Players who purchase the expansion will receive those updates at no extra charge.
Josh Davis, Game Director for Guild Wars 2, said, “We’re excited to release Visions of Eternity and look forward to seeing players take on the new world and raid bosses.”
