LS Eco Energy announced that its Vietnam-based production subsidiary, LS-VINA, has secured certification for ultra-high voltage (UHV) cables, paving the way for entry into the North American power infrastructure market.
According to the company, LS-VINA obtained certification from KEMA, a global testing and certification body, for its 230kV-class UHV cable. The certification meets the CS9 standard required for U.S. power projects, enabling the company to participate in major electricity infrastructure developments in North America.
The North American power market has been expanding rapidly, driven by growing electricity demand from AI data centers and the need to replace aging grid infrastructure. Industry estimates suggest the market could reach approximately $7.9 billion by 2027.
Ultra-high voltage cables require advanced technology and stable manufacturing capabilities, limiting the number of qualified suppliers. As a result, the market is largely dominated by globally certified companies.
LS-VINA has built its competitiveness in the UHV cable segment through experience in Europe and Asia. With the latest certification, the company aims to expand its role into a global production hub that includes North America.
Meanwhile, LS Eco Energy has been shifting its business portfolio toward high value-added products, improving profitability. The company has reported operating margins of around 7%, above the industry average, and achieved record performance in the first quarter of 2026.
CEO Lee Sang-ho said the certification marks a key milestone for entering the North American market and added that the company will accelerate its expansion in line with growing global investment in power grid infrastructure.
