Hanwha Aerospace announced that it will participate in the Egypt Defence Expo (EDEX) 2025, opening in Cairo on December 1, where the company will showcase a comprehensive lineup of ground and air defense solutions tailored for the Egyptian Armed Forces.
A centerpiece of the exhibition will be the Chunmoo Multiple Rocket Launcher System (MRLS). Hanwha will present full-scale models of four guided missile types, including the Anti-Ship Ballistic Missile (ASBM), offering extended strike capabilities with engagement ranges from 80km to 290km. The company aims to position the system as the ideal MRLS solution for Egypt, citing its field-proven operational performance in Poland and across the Middle East.
Hanwha Aerospace will also highlight the progress of Egypt’s K9 Self-Propelled Howitzer program. With local co-production scheduled to begin, the company plans to introduce the complete “K9 Package,” which includes the K10 Ammunition Resupply Vehicle and K11 Fire Direction Center Vehicle. The artillery portfolio will be further enhanced by advanced ammunition offerings such as 155mm precision-guided munitions and the Modular Charge System (MCS).
Making its first appearance at EDEX is the K11-N, a fire direction armored vehicle designed specifically for coastal defense operations. Equipped with a radar and an Electro-Optical Targeting System (EOTS), the K11-N enables precise surveillance and tracking of hostile naval targets.
Responding to rising demand in the Middle East and Africa for multi-layered air defense capabilities, Hanwha Aerospace will also introduce its integrated air defense solutions, featuring the L-SAM and M-SAM missile systems along with anti-drone defense technologies.
Additional systems on display will include the TAipers anti-tank guided missile, suitable for deployment across multiple ground platforms, and the Tigon armored vehicle series, offering modernized alternatives for aging legacy fleets.
“Hanwha Aerospace has established a solid strategic partnership with Egypt through the K9 program,” said Sung Il, Head of the Middle East and North Africa Region at Hanwha Aerospace. “Through this exhibition, we aim to further support the enhancement of Egypt’s national defense posture with customized solutions that meet the needs of the Egyptian Armed Forces.”
