Hanmi Science is accelerating its global expansion in the medical device sector, focusing on surgical treatment materials and related products.

The Hanmi Group's holding company, Hanmi Science, announced today that it will participate in MEDICA 2025, the world’s largest medical device trade fair, held from November 17 to 20 in Düsseldorf, Germany. The company aims to showcase its advanced medical devices and technological capabilities to strengthen its international business footprint.

At the event, bio-surgery specialist company TeraSion Biomedical will unveil three surgical hemostatic products developed by the firm, for which Hanmi Science holds the overseas distribution rights. These products are considered core to Hanmi Science’s medical device portfolio.

The three products are: Oozfix – a absorbable powder-type adjunct hemostat used after primary hemostasis in surgical procedures; Tableau Wax – an absorbable, poloxamer-based bone hemostat that forms a protective layer on bone surfaces to maintain hemostasis, and is used in various surgeries including CS, OS, and NS; and ActiClot – an active hemostat combining carboxymethyl starch and thrombin, provided as a pre-filled syringe for ease of use, which decomposes within three days post-application to minimize inflammation and foreign body reactions.

Notably, these products omit animal-derived ingredients and utilize proven, starch-based materials, enabling rapid hemostasis with a competitive edge in global markets. Their safety and efficacy are well recognized internationally.

Hanmi Science oversees both the domestic distribution and overseas export of these products. Through MEDICA 2025, the company plans to seek new partnerships with distributors and healthcare providers across Europe, the Middle East, and Asia while actively promoting the clinical advantages and technological strengths of its products.

A representative from Hanmi Science’s Medical Devices Division commented, “Participation in MEDICA is a significant opportunity to introduce South Korea’s high-quality medical technologies to the global market. We will continue to expand our overseas business base starting with these three hemostatic products, strengthening Hanmi Science’s position in the international healthcare arena.”

Furthermore, Hanmi Science is building a comprehensive portfolio that links surgical devices, health supplements, consumer health platforms, and dermatological cosmetics under the ‘Pro-Calm’ (PRO-CALM) brand, aiming to encompass the entire healthcare lifecycle.
