LS ELECTRIC has introduced a suite of AI-based manufacturing innovation solutions aimed at strengthening the competitiveness of industrial AI transformation.

The company is participating in the 2026 Smart Factory + Automation World (AW 2026), Asia’s largest smart factory and automation exhibition, taking place from March 4 to 6 at COEX in Seoul. At its 270-square-meter exhibition booth, LS ELECTRIC is presenting a next-generation AI factory model, a high-performance programmable logic controller (PLC), and AI-powered industrial automation platforms.

The centerpiece of the showcase is the company’s AI Factory Package Model built on global data standards. The AI factory concept integrates, standardizes and analyzes equipment data using artificial intelligence to enhance both productivity and quality. The solution features predictive maintenance capabilities that detect early signs of equipment abnormalities and forecast potential failures. It also helps reduce defect rates, energy consumption and carbon emissions. Through digital twin technology, real-time factory monitoring and control are enabled.

LS ELECTRIC said it has completed proof-of-concept validation through an ABB demonstration factory model established at L&F’s Gumi plant in Daegu’s Dalseong County.

The company is also debuting its new PLC model, the SU-CM70, designed for high-speed and complex production line control. Software-centric in design, the SU-CM70 can simultaneously manage multiple devices through a single PLC system and allows functional expansion tailored to customer requirements.

A range of AI-based industrial automation solutions is also on display. These include “LS SHE with AI,” which detects safety risks in industrial sites; the “LS Factory Black Box,” which records and analyzes process anomalies; and a conversational AI equipment diagnostic platform incorporating large language model (LLM) technology.

LS ELECTRIC said the exhibition offers mid-sized and small manufacturers an opportunity to directly experience AI-driven solutions and enhance their operational competitiveness.

The South Korean government is also promoting AI transformation in manufacturing. The Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy launched the Manufacturing AX Alliance (M.AX Alliance) last year, bringing together industry, academia and research institutions. The initiative aims to deploy 500 AI factories and achieve a 70 percent AI utilization rate in manufacturing by 2030.

“AI-based manufacturing innovation is at the core of industrial paradigm shifts,” an LS ELECTRIC official said. “Through this exhibition, we aim to position ourselves as a strategic partner that strengthens the manufacturing competitiveness of domestic companies.”
