Valletta, Malta, Dec. 16, 2025 — Cryptocurrency exchange OKX has introduced spot margin trading for customers in Europe, expanding the range of trading services available on its regional platform.
The launch brings features already offered on OKX’s global platform to European users, including spot margin trading with leverage of up to 10 times and a cross-margin structure that allows multiple assets in a portfolio to be used as collateral. OKX said the service has been configured to comply with European regulatory requirements.
At launch, spot margin trading will support Bitcoin (BTC) and Ether (ETH) pairs against USDC. Trades will be executed through a dedicated USD EEA order book, which OKX said is designed to meet regional compliance standards while maintaining operational separation from its global markets.
According to the company, the margin system includes standard risk-management mechanisms such as loan-to-value parameters, real-time monitoring, and automated liquidation processes. OKX also continues to publish Proof-of-Reserves reports covering customer assets held on the platform.
Erald Ghoos, chief executive of OKX Europe, said the introduction of spot margin trading reflects the company’s focus on expanding regulated offerings in the European market while aligning with supervisory expectations.
The rollout comes as crypto exchanges operating in Europe adjust their product lines in response to evolving regulatory frameworks governing leveraged and derivatives-like trading services.
