Healthy bakery products are emerging as a new area of opportunity for Korean food brands seeking to expand overseas. Paris Baguette has taken its homegrown healthy bakery brand PARAN LABEL to all of its stores in Singapore, strengthening its push to establish Korean-style bakery products in the Southeast Asian market.

PARAN LABEL was launched in South Korea in February 2025 with a focus on what Paris Baguette describes as a new standard for healthy bread. The brand combines proprietary fermentation techniques, health-conscious ingredients and balanced nutritional formulations while maintaining the taste and texture expected from bakery products.

The Singapore rollout follows an initial test at the brand’s Paragon store in February. After monitoring customer preferences and product performance, Paris Baguette expanded the range to all 28 stores across the country.

Seven PARAN LABEL products are currently available, including five bakery items and two sandwiches.

The expansion has already translated into stronger sales. Average 30-day sales in the bread category rose 57% compared with the average recorded from May through July, before the brand was rolled out across the entire Singapore network. Sales in the sandwich and salad categories also increased by 10%.

Among the best-selling products are the Smoked Salmon Ricotta Sandwich, Roasted Chicken Ricotta Sandwich and Multigrain Rye Bread. The rye bread has attracted repeat purchases for its nutty flavor and firm texture, while the smoked salmon sandwich has gained attention for combining smoked salmon, ricotta cheese and capers in a balanced meal-style offering.

The results point to a broader shift in consumer demand, with Singaporean customers increasingly looking for food that combines health considerations with taste and convenience. Paris Baguette has responded by incorporating attributes such as high fiber, reduced sugar, high protein and probiotics into selected products, while maintaining a focus on flavor and texture.

The company has also positioned PARAN LABEL as more than a traditional bread line. By offering sandwiches and salads alongside bakery products, it is seeking to make healthy bakery food part of consumers’ everyday meal choices rather than limiting it to snacks.

Local market accessibility has been another part of the strategy. Paris Baguette completed MUIS halal certification for all 28 Singapore stores this year, allowing Muslim consumers as well as other customers to access a wider range of products under halal-certified operations.

The company is also using the growing popularity of Korean culture in Southeast Asia to strengthen its bakery business. Rather than localizing the brand name, Paris Baguette has retained the Korean name “PARAN LABEL” in Singapore, reinforcing its Korean identity.

The company has recently expanded its “ANNYEONG” campaign across Southeast Asia to introduce Korean food and bakery culture to local consumers, incorporating Korean elements into both its products and marketing activities.

Industry observers say Singapore offers an attractive testing ground for Korean healthy bakery concepts because of its diverse consumer base and growing interest in health-conscious and convenient food options. The sharp increase in bread sales following the full-store rollout could provide Paris Baguette with a useful reference point as it considers further overseas expansion.

PARAN LABEL has also continued to grow in South Korea. The brand has surpassed 34 million units in cumulative sales since its launch and has expanded beyond healthy bread into cakes, sandwiches, desserts and beverages. Its latest offerings include five new healthy bread products featuring buckwheat, rice and rye.

A Paris Baguette representative said the company plans to use the Singapore rollout as a foundation for expanding PARAN LABEL into additional overseas markets, including the United States, with the goal of developing it into a global healthy bakery brand.

The Singapore expansion marks a significant step in Paris Baguette’s effort to turn a Korean health-focused bakery concept into an international business. With Korean food culture continuing to gain traction across Asia, the company is betting that the next K-Food category to travel overseas may be healthy bakery.
