LS ELECTRIC has announced that it has signed a significant contract to supply power solutions for a U.S. hyper-scale AI data center, marking a substantial achievement in its global market expansion.
On November 10, LS ELECTRIC revealed that it has secured a contract worth approximately 1,329 billion won (around $91.9 million) with a major North American AI big-tech company to provide high and low-voltage power distribution boards and transformers for the data center.
This project involves supplying electrical equipment to an AI data center being built in Tennessee. LS ELECTRIC will deliver electrical panels and transformers for the server rooms dedicated to AI machine learning, with completion scheduled by April next year.
The client for this project is the same company that previously contracted LS ELECTRIC for power equipment supply totaling 310 billion won at the end of last year and the beginning of this year. LS ELECTRIC regards this additional project as recognition of its performance and capability in ongoing collaborations, and it anticipates the development of a long-term partnership.
A LS ELECTRIC spokesperson stated, “This contract is meaningful as it marks our first comprehensive supply of power equipment—from low voltage to high voltage—for a hyper-scale data center in the U.S., a global hub for AI investment.” The company also noted that multiple North American customers are inquiring about long-term supply agreements due to ongoing power supply challenges in the region, expecting rapid growth in local distribution markets.
