LS ELECTRIC is strengthening its entry into the global data center market by forming strategic partnerships with international companies. Following a recent memorandum of understanding (MOU) with U.S.-based Honeywell, LS ELECTRIC has now signed an agreement with UK-based switchgear manufacturer Elecsis, accelerating its business expansion by leveraging local networks and technological expertise.
On October 29 (local time), LS ELECTRIC announced that it signed an MOU with Elecsis at the company's headquarters in Bristol, United Kingdom. The agreement focuses on the joint development of low-voltage (LV) switchgear for UK data centers.
Founded in 2001, Elecsis specializes in designing and manufacturing low-voltage switchgear, possessing advanced technical capabilities in direct design and production. The two companies plan to combine LS ELECTRIC’s power equipment solutions and in-house testing and development capabilities with Elecsis’s expertise in local standard switchgear design and manufacturing. The goal is to co-develop high-capacity, reliable, and safety-oriented switchgear solutions tailored for the expanding demands of UK data centers.
Looking ahead, LS ELECTRIC aims to utilize Elecsis’s local manufacturing and technical support capabilities to strengthen its partnership network across major European countries, providing customized power solutions to meet regional needs.
This collaboration is particularly significant as the UK data center market is experiencing rapid growth, driven by expanding cloud services and increasing AI infrastructure demands. The UK data center market is estimated to reach approximately $15.23 billion by 2025, with an average annual growth rate of 13.3% projected through 2030.
A LS ELECTRIC official stated, “Data centers require highly reliable and efficient power solutions, and as Korea’s leading power solution provider with a 70% market share, we are committed to enhancing our brand trust globally. We will continuously expand our local technical support partnerships, beginning with the UK, and deliver tailored power solutions across major European countries.”
Earlier in October, LS ELECTRIC also signed an MOU with Honeywell to jointly develop next-generation power management systems targeting the North American data center market, demonstrating its active push into the global data center sector.
