LG Electronics is strengthening its efforts to establish itself as a leading household brand in India by introducing locally optimized products and component solutions tailored to the country’s market conditions.

The company participated in the HVAC exhibition ACREX 2026 held in Mumbai on March 12, where it showcased a comprehensive portfolio of air conditioning solutions covering both finished products and core components. The exhibition highlighted LG’s new compressor lineup designed to address local challenges such as unstable power supply, extreme climate conditions, and tightening energy efficiency regulations.

LG’s newly introduced compressors for refrigeration and freezing applications are engineered to reduce mechanical shock caused by sudden shutdowns during power outages, improving durability and reliability. The compressors also feature high-efficiency and compact designs that elevate energy performance to industry-leading levels.

The units are more than 10 percent smaller than previous models, allowing greater usable space inside refrigerators. LG presented a broad product lineup ranging from residential 1–2 RT systems to commercial solutions up to 27 RT capacity. The commercial models also utilize R32 refrigerant, which has a lower global warming potential (GWP), helping businesses meet evolving environmental regulations.

The company also unveiled the Multi V 5 large-capacity VRF system tailored for India’s climate conditions. Built with LG’s proprietary inverter compressor and three-stage compression technology, the system optimizes energy efficiency by precisely controlling refrigerant flow in real time during heating and cooling operations.

LG Electronics previously introduced its localization strategy during the listing ceremony of its Indian subsidiary, emphasizing the principles of “Make for India,” “Make in India,” and “Make India Global.” The newly introduced compressors and HVAC solutions are produced locally in India.

To support this strategy, LG operates manufacturing facilities in Noida and Pune and plans to begin operations at a new production plant in Sri City in the second half of this year. The expanded production capacity is expected to strengthen LG’s foundation for manufacturing B2B components and India-specific home appliances.

According to global market research firm IMARC, India’s air conditioner market was valued at approximately $6.15 billion last year. The market is projected to grow at an average annual rate of about 15 percent from 2026 onward, reaching around $21.59 billion by 2034.

Jeon Hong-ju, managing director of LG Electronics India, said the company aims to become a trusted partner for corporate customers by delivering innovative component solutions optimized for local conditions.

“We will continue strengthening our competitiveness in the B2B sector and strive to become a national brand in India’s growing HVAC market,” he said.
