Hanwha Aerospace announced on December 29 that it has signed an approximately USD 4 billion (PLN 14 billion) executive contract with the Polish Armament Agency for the supply of CGR-080 guided missiles for Poland’s Homar-K multiple rocket launcher program.
The contract was signed at the Polish Army Museum in Warsaw and represents the third executive agreement under the Homar-K framework. The deal was concluded between the Polish Armament Agency and a consortium led by Hanwha-WB Advanced System—a joint venture between Hanwha Aerospace and Poland’s WB Electronics—along with Hanwha Aerospace.
The CGR-080 is a 239mm precision-guided missile with a maximum range of 80 kilometers and a circular error probability (CEP) of 15 meters. Equipped with a GPS/INS guidance system, the missile will serve as the core ammunition for Poland’s Homar-K system, the Polish variant of the Chunmoo multiple rocket launcher.
The agreement was signed by Major General Artur Kuptel, head of the Polish Armament Agency; Son Jae-il, President and CEO of Hanwha Aerospace; and Piotr Wojciechowski, President of the WB Group. The signing ceremony was attended by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of National Defence Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz, Secretary of State at the Ministry of National Defence Paweł Bejda, and senior government and defense officials from both Poland and the Republic of Korea, including representatives of the Korean presidency and the Defense Acquisition Program Administration.
Under the contract, the guided missiles will be produced at a dedicated manufacturing facility in Poland operated by Hanwha-WB Advanced System. Deliveries are scheduled to begin in 2030.
The project includes technology transfer and localization of production, with the goal of strengthening Poland’s defense capabilities by integrating local companies into the supply chain. It is also expected to create skilled technical jobs and support the development of a sustainable domestic defense ecosystem.
“Today’s agreement confirms the strong Polish–Korean partnership and fulfills our long-standing goal of achieving production independence within the Homar-K program,” said Deputy Prime Minister Kosiniak-Kamysz. “By bringing together WB Electronics and Hanwha Aerospace, we are building a robust partnership with a trusted ally.”
Son Jae-il, President and CEO of Hanwha Aerospace, said the contract represents a significant milestone built on mutual trust, adding that Hanwha will continue to work closely with Poland’s defense industry to contribute to national security and economic value.
