Singapore, November 12, 2025 – Hedera today announced the integration of the ERC-3643 token standard into its Asset Tokenization Studio, an open-source toolkit that allows institutions and fintech companies to issue and manage tokenized assets. The addition significantly expands Hedera’s capabilities for regulated digital asset issuance and broadens global access to compliant tokenized products.

ERC-3643—authored by Tokeny—introduces on-chain identity at the contract level and a modular architecture designed to increase adaptability, interoperability, and regulatory alignment across jurisdictions. The upgrade represents a major step forward in how issuers can configure and deploy compliant digital assets on Hedera.

“The addition of ERC-3643 to the Asset Tokenization Studio gives issuers more flexibility and control over how they bring regulated assets on-chain,” said Dr. Sabrina Tachdjian, VP of Financial Markets (APAC) at Hedera Foundation. “It reflects where the market is headed: toward borderless, customizable, and standards-based tokenization that empowers adopters across all frameworks and jurisdictions.”

Modular and User-Driven Tokenization

The new ERC-3643 integration complements the Studio’s existing U.S.-centric ERC-1400 implementation by offering a flexible, modular structure. Within the platform, issuers can define compliance rules, fill in metadata fields, and tailor tokens to the requirements of specific markets.

This approach enables organizations to create and deploy globally compliant digital assets without regional constraints. By embedding regulatory logic directly into the token contract, ERC-3643 supports smoother cross-border operations and broader access to international markets.

“ERC-3643 plays a pivotal role in enabling enterprises to issue assets that can be directly attributed to verified KYC or KYB identities,” said Matt Woodward, Future Payments Systems Consultant at Australian Payments Plus. “Asset Tokenization Studio allows organizations to issue, manage, and transfer digital assets in a compliant and secure manner—unlocking new opportunities for regulated and institutional use cases across the Hedera ecosystem and beyond.”

Partnership with Tokeny and Standard Modules

Tokeny, the developer of ERC-3643, continues to play a central role in advancing regulated tokenization. The company is developing standard modules for Asset Tokenization Studio, enabling issuers to configure tokens that meet specific compliance needs while retaining full customization flexibility.

“The future of tokenized finance depends on standardization. ERC-3643 gives the industry a common language for compliant tokenization,” said Luc Falempin, CEO of Tokeny and Head of Product Apex Digital at Apex Group. “It ensures a plug-and-play DeFi future with built-in compliance for regulated tokenized assets and provides service providers with a clear, interoperable way to manage and support them. Integrating it into Hedera’s Asset Tokenization Studio is a strong step toward an interoperable tokenization era.”

The collaboration combines Tokeny’s expertise in regulated asset frameworks with Hedera’s high-performance, energy-efficient distributed ledger, creating a standards-aligned environment for institutional tokenization.

Dual-Standard Flexibility

With support for both ERC-1400 and ERC-3643, Asset Tokenization Studio now offers issuers a choice of frameworks depending on regulatory and market requirements. ERC-3643 provides a modular, globally oriented approach suited to non-U.S. jurisdictions, while ERC-1400 remains a well-established option for U.S. equity and bond issuance.

By offering both standards without locking issuers into a proprietary ecosystem, Hedera positions its platform as a flexible, future-ready foundation for compliant digital assets and cross-border tokenization. Asset Tokenization Studio is among the first solutions to bridge both standards in a single environment, keeping the Hedera ecosystem aligned with evolving global market practices.
