Netmarble said its upcoming multi-platform open-world RPG The Seven Deadly Sins: Origin, developed by Netmarble F&C, drew strong interest from local visitors during its showcase at Taipei Game Show 2026, held in Taiwan from January 29 to February 1.
At the event, Netmarble unveiled a playable demo of The Seven Deadly Sins: Origin for the first time in Taiwan through the PlayStation booth. The demo featured early chapters of the game’s original storyline, open-world exploration, and a boss battle against the Red Demon. To improve accessibility for local players, the demo supported traditional Chinese.
The booth attracted long queues throughout the exhibition, reflecting high levels of interest among attendees. Players who participated in the demo highlighted the game’s cinematic presentation, faithful depiction of the Seven Deadly Sins universe, and the seamless implementation of character-linked action and combination-based combat in a console environment.
The Seven Deadly Sins intellectual property has maintained steady popularity in Taiwan through its anime and manga adaptations. In 2020, the mobile RPG The Seven Deadly Sins: Grand Cross reached the top of Taiwan’s Apple App Store revenue rankings, demonstrating a strong local fan base.
Netmarble said the Taipei Game Show served as an opportunity to evaluate the console-oriented gameplay experience and localization quality of The Seven Deadly Sins: Origin, reaffirming the title’s potential in Taiwan and the broader Chinese-speaking market.
Based on the globally popular manga series with cumulative sales exceeding 55 million copies, The Seven Deadly Sins: Origin is a multi-platform open-world RPG that allows players to freely explore the continent of Britannia. Gameplay features include tag-based combat that enables players to switch heroes in real time, powerful combination skills, and action mechanics that vary depending on character and weapon combinations. The game also offers multiplayer content, allowing players to form parties with friends and take on boss encounters together.
Netmarble has been expanding its global outreach by participating in major international game shows such as Gamescom and Tokyo Game Show, and by conducting closed beta tests (CBT) for global users. According to the company, 95 percent of CBT survey respondents indicated their intention to continue playing the game after its official launch.
The Seven Deadly Sins: Origin is scheduled for global release in March on console, PC, and mobile platforms. The console version will be available on PlayStation 5, while the PC version will be distributed via Steam. The game is currently available for wishlist registration on both platforms. Pre-registration is also underway via the official website, Google Play, and the App Store, with in-game rewards offered to early participants.
