LS ELECTRIC participated in KORMARINE 2025, held at BEXCO in Busan from October 21 to 24, demonstrating its cutting-edge technologies in ship automation and power conversion. As one of the world’s leading marine and offshore equipment exhibitions, LS ELECTRIC operated a booth under the slogan "Toward a Bigger World, Toward the Sea!"
At the exhibition, LS ELECTRIC introduced a range of products and technologies under the theme “LS Ship Solutions.” These included ship automation solutions such as PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers), HMIs (Human Machine Interfaces), and AC drives. Notably, these products have received certification from nine major international classification societies, including ABS (USA), BV (France), CCS (China), DNV (Norway/Germany), KR (Korea), LR (UK), NK (Japan), RINA (Italy), and RS (Russia).
To address the increasing importance of cybersecurity in the maritime industry, LS ELECTRIC also unveiled a dedicated cybersecurity solution for industrial control systems. This solution complies with the cybersecurity regulation UR E27 established by the International Association of Classification Societies (IACS).
Additionally, a prototype of the “Modular Drive,” a power conversion device designed for 2MW class ship electric propulsion systems, was on display. Using air-cooling technology, an efficient thermal management structure, and IGBT-based technology, this high-output, low-noise device is part of a government-funded project to develop core components for 3,000-ton electric propulsion ships.
Through its integrated automation platform that combines propulsion, control, and protection systems, LS ELECTRIC is offering comprehensive solutions essential for the era of smart ships.
Together with LS Cable & System, which shared a joint booth, LS ELECTRIC also showcased new marine cables for ships and offshore applications, presenting an integrated power and communication solution.
An LS ELECTRIC representative stated, “As the global shipbuilding market evolves toward energy efficiency and eco-friendliness, LS will lead the next-generation eco-friendly ship market by offering solutions that cover power supply, control, and cybersecurity,” expressing confidence in the company’s future direction.
