- Expanding B2G revenue visibility through national screening and public healthcare channels
- Policy-driven growth strategy spanning domestic public procurement and global expansion
Medical artificial intelligence(AI) company Coreline Soft announced on the 29th that its lung cancer screening software, AVIEW LCS, has been designated as an Excellent R&D Innovation Product by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy (MOTIE).
The designation qualifies AVIEW LCS for priority entry, over the next three years, into policy-based procurement channels, including negotiated public contracts, pilot purchases administered by the Public Procurement Service, and export-linked government programs.
The Excellent R&D Innovation Product Designation is granted only to outcomes of government-funded R&D projects that demonstrate both technological innovation and public-sector applicability. Administered by MOTIE, the program is designed to bridge the gap between research成果 and real-world adoption by linking R&D achievements directly to commercialization and public procurement. Products selected under the program are eligible for negotiated contracts without standard competitive bidding, significantly enhancing revenue visibility and pipeline stability in the public sector.
AVIEW LCS is an AI-powered software solution that assists in determining the malignancy of pulmonary nodules detected in chest CT images. Based on low-dose chest CT data, the system supports early detection of lung cancer and is positioned for use in large-scale screening environments. Coreline Soft has accumulated public-sector references by deploying the solution across multiple B2G initiatives, including national lung cancer screening programs, digital transformation projects in public hospitals, and government-linked R&D implementations.
More recently, the company has participated in AI-based chest diagnostic infrastructure projects targeting public medical institutions, where the solution’s real-world usability and operational efficiency in public screening settings have been validated. Industry observers note that this demonstrates a shift from one-off R&D projects toward a sustainable structure capable of generating recurring public procurement demand.
Public healthcare and national screening programs are typically characterized by long operational lifecycles and incremental expansion following initial adoption, favoring medium- to long-term recurring revenue models over short-term sales. With the innovation designation, AVIEW LCS has gained broader access to procurement channels spanning central government ministries, local governments, and public healthcare institutions.
Coreline Soft stated that it plans to use AVIEW LCS as a starting point to gradually expand its AI portfolio within the public procurement domain. Kim Jin-guk, Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Coreline Soft, said, “This designation represents more than a product certification. It establishes a practical foundation for deploying AI technology across public healthcare sites nationwide. By aligning with government policies aimed at strengthening public healthcare, we will continue to expand our AI solutions so they can contribute meaningfully to patient care in a broader range of clinical settings.”
Separately, the company has supplied AI solutions to lung cancer screening initiatives in Europe, including the 4ITLR project, Germany’s HANSE program, Italy’s RISP initiative, and France’s IMPULSION project. In Germany and other European markets, Coreline Soft has also contributed to discussions and pilot implementations in which AI-based quantitative analysis is increasingly recommended as part of first-line lung cancer screening workflows.
Within the industry, the latest designation is being viewed as a turning point—marking Coreline Soft’s transition from a technology-centric AI developer to a B2G medical AI company integrating policy alignment, public procurement access, and clinical references.
Background: Excellent R&D Innovation Product Designation
The Excellent R&D Innovation Product Designation is a policy framework designed to ensure that outcomes of government-funded R&D projects move beyond the research stage and are deployed in real public-sector environments. MOTIE evaluates technologies developed through industrial technology innovation programs and energy-related R&D initiatives, assessing them across multiple criteria, including technological novelty, public-sector utility, on-site applicability, and scalability.
Products selected under the program receive institutional support that prioritizes their entry into negotiated public procurement contracts, pilot purchasing schemes, and export-linked government initiatives, thereby formalizing the connection between R&D, commercialization, and public procurement.
Significance of AVIEW LCS’s Designation
The designation signifies that AVIEW LCS has been recognized not only for technical performance but also for its suitability for deployment in public healthcare and screening environments. In the context of medical AI, this includes meeting public-sector expectations around safety, reliability, and scalability.
Industry analysts further interpret the move as evidence that AVIEW LCS has entered a policy-backed adoption phase, in which the technology is positioned for real-world use within government-led healthcare systems rather than remaining confined to pilot or validation stages.
