SK Ocean Plant will participate in the 'Defense & Security 2025' exhibition, Southeast Asia’s largest defense industry and security trade show, held from November 10 to 13 at the IMPACT Convention Center in Bangkok, Thailand. The company aims to highlight its advanced naval vessel construction technology, maritime defense systems, and ship MRO (Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul) expertise.
Since its inaugural event in 2003, 'Defense & Security 2025' has been held biennially, bringing together over 200 companies from 15 countries. This major event attracts more than 20,000 industry professionals and buyers, offering a platform for technological demonstrations, business consultations, and strategic alliances.
During the event, the latest land, sea, and air weapon systems, internal security devices, and cyber security solutions will be exhibited. The program includes business meetings, technical presentations, product demonstrations, and meetings with official delegations from various countries.
At the expo, SK Ocean Plant will showcase a variety of naval platforms, including a 1,500-ton patrol vessel, a 500-ton high-speed vessel, and a 3,600-ton frigate. The display underscores the company's cutting-edge shipbuilding technology, maritime defense systems, and its position as a global provider of naval and defense solutions. The company also plans to engage with overseas government officials and military representatives, particularly from Thailand, to explore new export opportunities.
In particular, SK Ocean Plant aims to strengthen its overseas partnerships by responding to increased demands for navy and coast guard ships in Southeast Asia, leveraging its innovative vessel construction technologies and comprehensive systems integration capabilities.
A company spokesperson stated, "We are currently constructing the follow-up ships to the Republic of Korea Navy's Ulsan-class Batch III destroyers, including ships 2, 3, and 4, and have successfully delivered dozens of vessels to the Korean Navy and Coast Guard." They added, “Participating in this exhibition allows us to further bolster our competitiveness in the global naval market based on our accumulated shipbuilding and defense technology expertise.”
