Digital asset infrastructure company Copper appointed Elin Cherry and Sam Goh as co-chief executives, effective September 21, 2026, as it develops services for institutional clients. The London-based company said on September 22 that Amar Kuchinad, its previous CEO, had moved to an advisory role. Matthias Winter, previously Copper’s head of legal for Europe, the Middle East and Africa, was named chief legal officer.
Cherry was Copper’s chief compliance officer and has more than 30 years of experience spanning banks, broker-dealers and digital asset firms. Goh had served as chief financial officer since 2023. Their appointments place leaders from Copper’s compliance and finance functions jointly in charge as the company develops its product offering.
Copper said its U.S. broker-dealer, Copper Markets (US) Inc., had become a member of the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA). The company identified qualified custody, staking, financing and collateral management among the services it intends to develop in the U.S. It also pointed to ClearLoop, its network designed to connect custodians, prime brokers and trading venues for collateral management. The release did not provide a timetable for the proposed U.S. services.
Chairman Mike Kuehnel said Cherry and Goh brought complementary experience in regulation, finance and institutional markets. Cherry said the company would shape its products around institutional clients’ needs as digital asset markets develop. Copper said its board, which includes founder Dmitry Tokarev, would continue to guide product development and growth strategy.
