Zurich, Switzerland — The Hashgraph Group (THG) has announced a new partnership with PwC Switzerland and PwC Germany aimed at helping enterprises meet rising expectations for Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) transparency. By combining PwC’s regulatory and sustainability expertise with Hedera’s distributed ledger technology, the collaboration intends to deliver verifiable, tamper-proof ESG reporting solutions.
The joint initiative comes at a moment when companies face heightened scrutiny over the accuracy of their sustainability data. With the global carbon credit market forecast to surpass $250 billion by 2030 and regulators demanding detailed disclosures aligned with frameworks such as GRI, TCFD, and SASB, organizations must now show evidence—not just claims—of their climate and sustainability performance. THG and PwC plan to address this need by developing enterprise tools for carbon tracking and offsetting, renewable energy certification, product lifecycle transparency, and circular economy processes.
Central to the collaboration is EcoGuard, a sustainability platform built on the Hedera network. EcoGuard acts as a trust infrastructure that records ESG data on an immutable distributed ledger, creating tokenized entries that can be independently verified and audited. Offered as a managed service, the platform connects with existing enterprise systems and is designed to support long-term compliance across sectors. Initial deployments will target major corporations and select government initiatives, with broader expansion expected across industries such as energy, manufacturing, and financial services.
“The partnership with PwC reflects a shared belief that trust and transparency must anchor ESG reporting,” said Stefan Deiss, Co-Founder and CEO of The Hashgraph Group. “As climate risks intensify, reliable ESG data becomes foundational. With Hedera’s low-energy distributed ledger as its backbone, EcoGuard is creating the infrastructure needed to turn sustainability commitments into measurable, verifiable outcomes.”
The partnership follows recent momentum across the Hedera ecosystem. Verra, one of the most influential standards bodies in the carbon markets, recently connected with Hedera to modernize how carbon projects are monitored and verified. The initiative aims to streamline validation processes and enhance the integrity of carbon credit systems on a global scale.
PwC executives emphasized the importance of combining technological and regulatory know-how.
Dr. Antonios Koumbarakis, Partner at PwC Switzerland, said the collaboration aims to support organizations seeking to reduce emissions and improve resource efficiency. “By deploying advanced digital tools, we can enhance transparency, strengthen compliance, and help companies generate long-term value,” he noted.
Konstantin Dagianis, Partner at PwC Germany, added that the alliance offers enterprises an end-to-end solution. “PwC and THG are jointly addressing regulatory, business, and technical requirements across the entire value chain,” he said. “With new sustainability legislation approaching, this partnership positions us to guide clients from strategy through implementation.”
