RIYADH, SAUDI ARABIA, January 7, 2025 — EDF International Regional Headquarters (EDF RHQ) and droppRWA Limited have signed a strategic memorandum of understanding to explore blockchain-based solutions for energy financing and asset management in Saudi Arabia.
The partnership will assess the use of decentralized technologies to streamline inter-company transactions, tokenize real-world energy assets, and develop new frameworks for carbon credits. By bringing assets such as renewable installations and thermal facilities on-chain, the initiative aims to improve liquidity, transparency, and lifecycle management.
The collaboration supports Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 by applying advanced financial technology to the energy transition. Leveraging droppRWA’s “Sovereign RWA” infrastructure, the partners seek to modernize how large-scale energy projects are financed and governed.
Omar Aldaweesh, CEO of EDF RHQ, said the initiative will help test asset tokenization and next-generation finance beyond traditional models, while Faisal Al Monai, chairman of droppRWA, noted the agreement as a step toward more accessible and liquid energy assets through blockchain.
