NCSoft announced that its upcoming time survival shooter, Time Takers, developed by Mistil Games, will enter its first closed beta test (CBT).
The CBT schedule was revealed in a newly released video on Feb. 20. The test will run from March 13 to March 21 (local time) and will be open to players in eight countries across North and South America: the United States, Canada, Brazil, Argentina, Mexico, Chile, Colombia and Peru. NCSoft said the regions were selected for the initial test due to the strong market presence and popularity of the shooter genre.
Players can access the CBT via the global PC gaming platform Steam. To ensure stable matchmaking, the servers will operate for eight hours per day during the test period. In addition, players outside the Americas can participate if they obtain a CBT key through the official Time Takers Discord channel.
NCSoft said it plans to use the CBT to evaluate its global service infrastructure and server stability, while incorporating player feedback into ongoing development.
During the test, participants will experience the three-player “Trio Mode.” Players will explore maps with distinct themes, including Miraishi, Yokogawa and Morshtadt, while gaining insight into the game’s world-building and main storyline. A total of 12 playable characters, known as “Travelers,” and 10 primary weapons will be available.
Time Takers is built around a unique gameplay system that utilizes “Time Energy” as a core resource. Each character features distinct narratives and skills, and players can combine various weapons and “Passive App” systems that grant continuous effects, enabling strategic and diverse combat styles.
