Hanwha will showcase advanced, AI-based defense solutions at the Seoul International Aerospace & Defense Exhibition (ADEX) 2025, highlighting the technological evolution of its combat platforms and integrated manned‑unmanned teaming (MUM‑T) systems designed for future battlefields.

Hanwha Aerospace will present a suite of AI-enabled MUM‑T systems, with the public debut of the Themis‑K — a multi‑purpose unmanned ground vehicle (UGV) that mounts Hanwha’s remotely controlled weapon station onto Milrem Robotics’ Themis platform. The Themis‑K will be displayed alongside other UGVs such as the Arion‑SMET and GRUNT, demonstrating interoperability with Hanwha’s core land combat systems, including the K9.

The company will also exhibit evolved versions of its widely recognized combat platforms. The K9A3, the next‑generation self‑propelled howitzer, incorporates MUM‑T features that enable remote and autonomous driving, autonomous emplacement and follow‑the‑leader maneuvers. With an extended range beyond 80 km, the K9A3 is designed to improve survivability and fire support while operating with a reduced crew. The Chunmoo multiple‑rocket launcher system will be shown in multiple launcher configurations, including simultaneous multi‑caliber firing, an electric drive, and enhanced self‑protection; a mock‑up of the Laser‑Guided Precision Weapon (L‑PGW), a key element of “Chunmoo 3.0,” will also be unveiled.

Other land systems on display include the WAV (Wheeled Armored Vehicle), an export model built on a modular Tigon platform capable of accommodating diverse mission equipment, and the Redback infantry fighting vehicle. The TAipers anti‑tank guided missile will be showcased to emphasize its versatility for integration across ground platforms.

For air defense, Hanwha will introduce a multi‑layered architecture that links Hanwha Systems’ advanced AESA radar with an AI‑based command‑and‑control network. The integrated system is designed to coordinate responses from a portfolio of effectors, including a next‑generation interceptor, a new mobile SHORAD solution, a high‑output laser weapon system (LWS) and counter‑drone capabilities.

In collaboration with General Atomics, Hanwha will present the GE‑STOL UAV. Its high‑lift design enables short takeoff and landing (STOL) while preserving MALE (medium‑altitude long‑endurance) performance, allowing the platform to remain airborne for more than 20 hours in its baseline surveillance and reconnaissance configuration.

In the naval domain, Hanwha Ocean will display the KSS‑III (Jangbogo‑III) submarine and introduce a next‑generation strategic surface ship featuring AI‑assisted rapid decision‑making and a multi‑layered defensive suite that stages countermeasures against threats such as ballistic missiles and drones. A “Smart Battleship” concept based on Hanwha Systems’ Integrated Combat System — unifying combat management, engineering control and bridge systems — will be unveiled for the first time, showcasing AI‑based automatic target recognition and engagement management intended to improve maritime mission effectiveness.

“At ADEX 2025, we will demonstrate how our proven platforms are evolving into truly AI‑integrated solutions for the future,” said Dong Kwan Kim, vice chairman of Hanwha Group. “By showcasing how AI‑powered technologies are integrated with our platforms across land, sea and air, we reinforce our commitment to being a long‑term, reliable partner for our customers around the world.”
