Doosan Group is accelerating its push into the artificial intelligence (AI) industry by expanding collaboration with NVIDIA across multiple business sectors. The partnership is expected to strengthen Doosan’s presence throughout the AI value chain, connecting its capabilities in energy infrastructure, robotics, industrial equipment, and advanced electronic materials to emerging AI-driven markets.

Doosan announced on June 8 that it will pursue cooperation with NVIDIA in the fields of physical AI, AI factories, and intelligent industrial equipment. The two companies plan to combine Doosan’s industrial expertise, built through decades of manufacturing experience, with NVIDIA’s AI platforms to identify new business opportunities and accelerate industrial innovation.

The collaboration reflects the growing role of AI beyond data analysis and into real-world industrial operations. NVIDIA’s concept of “physical AI” focuses on enabling robots, industrial machinery, and factory systems to perceive their surroundings, make decisions, and perform tasks autonomously. The technology is widely regarded as a key driver of next-generation manufacturing transformation.

One of the primary areas of cooperation involves energy solutions for AI data centers and AI factories. As demand for computing power continues to surge, electricity consumption is rapidly increasing across the AI industry. Doosan believes that technologies such as Doosan Enerbility’s gas turbines and small modular reactors (SMRs), along with Doosan Fuel Cell’s fuel cell systems, could play a significant role in supporting future AI infrastructure.

The two companies will also explore models for power infrastructure in the AI era, including improving power plant operational efficiency, ensuring stable electricity supply, and increasing the use of environmentally friendly energy sources.

In robotics, the partnership aims to advance industrial automation through next-generation collaborative robots. Doosan Robotics plans to leverage NVIDIA’s robotics simulation technologies and AI platforms to develop robots capable of learning, reasoning, and adapting autonomously in industrial environments.

Particular attention will be given to AI-powered robotic solutions for highly complex manufacturing tasks, including depalletizing operations and precision surface-finishing processes. The goal is to enable robots to analyze their surroundings in real time and optimize work procedures independently.

Doosan Bobcat is also expected to expand the scope of collaboration. The company plans to apply AI technologies to construction, agricultural, and logistics equipment, allowing machines to understand working environments and perform tasks autonomously.

To support these efforts, the two companies will cooperate on the development of AI-powered world models trained on industrial data. Such models enable machines to learn from diverse scenarios in virtual environments and make optimal decisions in real-world operations.

The partnership also extends to electronic materials that support the AI semiconductor ecosystem. Doosan Corporation’s Electro-Materials Business Group supplies copper clad laminates (CCLs), a key material used in high-performance printed circuit boards (PCBs) for AI servers and accelerators.

With demand for AI data centers continuing to rise, the companies plan to explore opportunities related to next-generation AI server platforms. To meet growing market demand, Doosan is currently establishing a new production facility in Thailand.

Industry observers view the collaboration as further evidence that Doosan is reshaping its business portfolio around AI-driven growth opportunities. With strengths spanning power generation equipment, robotics, industrial machinery, and advanced materials, the group is positioning itself to play a broader role across key sectors of the AI economy.

Beyond adopting AI technologies, Doosan aims to identify new business models that can be deployed directly in industrial environments. As AI increasingly becomes a defining factor in manufacturing competitiveness, the company is expected to accelerate its long-term strategy for future growth and industrial transformation.
