As the global beauty industry increasingly shifts toward AI-powered and hardware-integrated skincare solutions, Korean companies are accelerating efforts to secure competitiveness in the fast-growing beauty tech sector.

Industry analysts say the homecare beauty device market is evolving beyond simple cosmetic tools into a broader technology ecosystem combining sensors, embedded software, precision control systems, and data-driven user experiences. Demand for premium at-home skincare devices has continued to rise in North America and Asia following the post-pandemic expansion of self-care and personalized wellness trends.

Against this backdrop, Korean ultrasound hardware specialist Eco DM Lab recently introduced its new homecare beauty device, “Quadthera Penta,” as part of its broader push into the high-tech skincare market.

The company said the device incorporates five independently engineered ultrasound frequencies — 1MHz, 3MHz, 10MHz, 19MHz, and 25MHz — combined with an interval-based control architecture designed to optimize energy output depending on usage modes and skin-care conditions.

Rather than focusing solely on stronger output performance, the latest competition in the beauty device industry is increasingly centered on precision energy control, operational stability, and user safety. Companies are investing heavily in embedded control systems and smart interface technologies as consumers demand more sophisticated at-home skincare experiences.

Eco DM Lab said the new device was developed based on decades of accumulated ultrasound engineering research and practical user interface feedback. The company added that it focused on improving stability and usability for home environments through integrated hardware and software optimization.

The product also includes multiple operating modes designed for different skincare purposes, while incorporating lightweight hardware design and motion-sensing standby functions aimed at improving user convenience and operational efficiency.

According to the company, the device underwent output-related testing through the Korea Testing Laboratory (KTL), and hydrophone-based acoustic field measurement data was incorporated into the company’s quality control process.

Eco DM Lab emphasized that the product is intended solely for cosmetic and homecare purposes and is not a medical device designed for the diagnosis, treatment, or prevention of disease.

Industry observers say the next phase of K-beauty competition is likely to be driven not only by cosmetics and branding, but also by engineering capabilities, component technologies, and data-backed product reliability.

The global beauty tech market has recently seen growing competition around AI-assisted skincare analysis, sensor-based automated control systems, and connected smart beauty platforms. Korean companies are also expanding investment in premium homecare technologies as they seek to strengthen their presence in overseas markets.

Eco DM Lab said it plans to target global beauty tech demand across North America, Europe, and Asia by leveraging its ultrasound control technologies and precision hardware expertise.

A beauty industry official said the market is gradually transitioning from conventional cosmetic competition toward technology-centered differentiation.

“In the future, competitiveness in the beauty industry may depend more on engineering reliability and technical trust than on marketing alone,” the official said. “Companies capable of combining hardware sophistication with verified quality control systems are likely to gain stronger positions in the global market.”
