South Korean game developer NC has launched its latest MMORPG, Aion 2, globally, with the title surpassing 400,000 concurrent players shortly after its official release.
The game went live on October 5 local time across global markets through Steam and NC’s PURPLE platform. The strong opening follows an early access period that began on September 30 for players who purchased the Founder’s Pack.
Aion 2 gained momentum ahead of its full launch, remaining at the top of Steam’s global Top Sellers chart throughout the five-day early access period. The game also reached the No. 1 position in the chart in 15 individual countries.
Its performance has continued following the official launch. As of October 6, Aion 2 ranked first on Steam’s “Popular New Releases” and “Trending Free” charts, underscoring strong early interest from players across international markets.
NC is positioning Aion 2 as a major title in its global expansion strategy. The game is available across four regions — North America, South America, Europe and Japan — and supports eight languages, including English, Japanese, French, German and Spanish.
To coincide with the global launch, NC has also released a behind-the-scenes documentary featuring the development team. The video offers a look at the studio’s development goals and the process behind creating Aion 2.
The latest launch marks an important test of NC’s ability to build a global audience for its MMORPG portfolio. With the title already showing strong performance across key Steam indicators, attention is now turning to whether Aion 2 can sustain its momentum and establish a long-term presence in overseas markets.
Further information on Aion 2, including game content and updates, is available through the title’s official website.
