Hanmi Science’s core subsidiary, Hanmi Pharmaceutical, is set to bolster its global expansion by highlighting its innovative pipeline, including its flagship cancer biopharmaceutical ‘Rolontis,’ along with other proprietary developed products.
The company announced on the 28th that it will participate in the world’s largest pharmaceutical trade show, ‘CPHI (Convention on Pharmaceutical Ingredients) Worldwide 2025,’ held in Frankfurt, Germany from October 28th to 30th (local time).
This event, held annually across key European countries, is regarded as the largest pharmaceutical and biotech exhibition worldwide. It is expected to attract over 6,200 companies from 166 countries and more than 60,000 industry professionals this year.
At its dedicated booth, Hanmi Pharm will showcase its core competencies through flagship products such as Lojuhet, AmosalTan, and EsomeZole—drugs developed in-house that represent its strong formulation and manufacturing capabilities. The presentation aims to foster active international communication, especially in next-generation modified and combination drugs, which are central to Hanmi’s growth.
The company will also introduce over 30 innovative pipeline drugs currently in development for obesity/metabolic disorders, cancer, and rare diseases. This initiative aims to explore collaborative opportunities with leading global pharmaceutical companies.
Hanmi Pharm will prominently promote ‘Rolontis,’ its self-developed biosimilar treatment for neutropenia. Rolontis is notable as Korea’s 33rd approved new drug and the first biopharmaceutical from a Korean pharmaceutical company to receive FDA approval for the oncology field. Since its launch in the U.S. under the brand name ‘Rolvedon’ in 2022, it has achieved robust sales, surpassing 200 billion won per quarter, with a cumulative revenue exceeding 2 trillion won.
The success of Rolontis is closely linked to Hanmi’s global biosimilar production facility in Pyeongtaek. This plant supplies the FDA-approved raw materials for Rolvedon and is praised for its cutting-edge manufacturing capacity with compliance to the latest cGMP standards. The facility features large-scale biopharmaceutical manufacturing equipment—up to 25,000 liters—and a dedicated team skilled in quality management.
Unlike other domestic CDMO companies that mainly utilize animal cell culture, Hanmi’s Pyeongtaek plant employs microbial fermentation technology. This approach allows for faster, cost-effective mass production of biopharmaceuticals, offering a competitive advantage.
Backed by its robust R&D capabilities, Hanmi provides end-to-end services—from cell line development, clinical-grade manufacturing, process development, validation, raw material and finished product production, to regulatory documentation and commercial manufacturing.
A Hanmi spokesperson stated, “Through our proprietary innovative products and tailored regional strategies, we aim to expand our footprint in the global healthcare market. We will also actively promote Hanmi’s CDMO capabilities at Pyeongtaek, which meet international standards, to prospective clients worldwide.”
