Com2uS said SKIT has secured a direct berth in the Summoners War World Arena Championship 2026 (SWC2026) World Finals after finishing first in the Open Qualifier – Korea held on Aug. 8.

SWC, now in its 10th edition, is Com2uS’ global esports tournament for Summoners War: Sky Arena, bringing together top players from around the world. With Seoul hosting this year’s World Finals, the winner of the Korea open qualifier received a host-country advantage granting direct entry to the championship event.

SKIT drew particular attention this year after returning to competition following several years as an SWC caster. He had worked as a tournament commentator since 2023 before making his comeback as a player for SWC2026. Former player ZZI-SOONG, meanwhile, joined the broadcast team this season.

The Korea qualifier was played as a single-elimination tournament with best-of-five matches.

SKIT opened his campaign with a dominant 3-0 victory over SCHOLES in the quarterfinals before defeating ANGRYBIRD 3-1 in the semifinals.

In the final, SKIT faced BEAT.D, the former world champion who won SWC2018. SKIT prevailed 3-1 after a closely contested match, using stable pick-and-ban strategies and tactical play to secure the Korea qualifier title.

The victory sends SKIT back to the tournament’s biggest stage nine years after winning the Korean finals at SWC2017. His return from the commentary desk to competitive play and subsequent qualification for the World Finals has emerged as one of the early storylines of this year’s tournament.

Competition has also begun in Europe. P4FFIX, MALIGNANT, OBABO and PINKROID secured places in the Europe Cup through winners-bracket matches held on Aug. 8 and 9.

Com2uS plans to finalize the Europe Cup lineup following the European regional qualifier losers-bracket matches on Aug. 15.

Online qualifiers will continue across regions worldwide through the end of August. Successful players will advance to the regional cups beginning in September, where they will compete for spots in the season-ending championship.

The top players emerging from the regional competitions will gather in Seoul in November for the SWC2026 World Finals, where the tournament’s 10th world champion will be crowned.

The Seoul final also marks a significant milestone for the long-running esports competition. Since its launch, SWC has developed into one of the key global community events surrounding Summoners War, connecting players and fans across multiple regions through international competition.

With SKIT already securing Korea’s direct berth, attention will now turn to whether the returning veteran can convert his home-country qualification into a deep run at the World Finals.

All SWC2026 matches, including the Open Qualifier – Korea and European regional qualifiers, are available for replay through Com2uS’ official esports YouTube channel.
