Kyungdong Navien has won three Winner awards at the iF Design Award 2026 for its user interface (UI) design for the “Sleep Mat All-Season Air/Pro” and its integrated heating and cooling temperature controller, the Thermostat.
The iF Design Award is considered one of the world’s top three design competitions, evaluating design excellence and innovation across nine categories, including product design and user interface design. Since receiving its first award in 2011, Kyungdong Navien has continued to demonstrate its design capabilities, winning a total of eight awards across six different years.
The “Sleep Mat All-Season Air/Pro,” which won in the product design category, is designed to maintain a comfortable sleep temperature throughout the year using its COOL/COOL+ and WARM modes.
Taking into account the product’s purpose of promoting better sleep, Kyungdong Navien designed the device to be easy to operate while blending naturally with bedroom interiors. The Sleep Hub controller features a touch-based interface and includes a hidden display that appears only when the device is in use, minimizing light that could interfere with sleep.
The design also incorporates a wave-pattern motif to symbolize the water-based sleep solution used by the product. In addition, layered stripe patterns were applied to the air intake and exhaust vents to reduce heat buildup while creating a refined aesthetic.
The Thermostat, which won in the user interface category, is an integrated heating and cooling temperature controller scheduled for release in the North American market. Kyungdong Navien designed the UI around the principle of “simple and clear operation,” focusing on improving the overall user experience.
The interface reduces visual information density and organizes colors, size, and contrast in a structured way to guide the user’s eye naturally, enabling intuitive control. It also offers personalized features such as energy-saving automation, weather-based motion effects, customizable standby screen images, and both dark and light themes.
Kyungdong Navien previously demonstrated its global design competitiveness by winning all three of the world’s major design awards last year, including the IDEA Design Award, the Red Dot Design Award, and the iF Design Award.
The company said its design philosophy, “Optimize,” focuses on achieving harmony with living spaces while maintaining functionality. Through this approach, Kyungdong Navien aims to improve accessibility by designing products that enhance usability for both consumers and professional installers.
