As artificial intelligence (AI) evolves beyond a productivity tool into systems capable of autonomous decision-making and execution, SK AX has unveiled its vision for an “Agentic Enterprise” — a new model that reimagines enterprise operations around AI.
At its annual conference, “IMAGINE AX 2026,” held on June 16 at the Grand InterContinental Parnas in Seoul, SK AX presented a blueprint for enterprises in which AI actively performs tasks and collaborates with employees across organizations.
The company said its goal is to help businesses transition from simply using AI to becoming enterprises where AI itself works alongside human employees.
Industry observers view the announcement as a sign that competition is shifting beyond generative AI applications toward “execution-oriented AI” capable of autonomously carrying out business operations.
While many companies have so far focused on chatbots and document automation, AI is increasingly expanding into core business areas such as manufacturing management, decision support, customer service, and human resources.
“An era in which merely adopting AI provides a competitive advantage is coming to an end,” said Kim Wanjong, President of SK AX, during his keynote speech. “A company’s success will depend on how effectively it connects its organization through AI and creates new value.”
Drawing from its own AI transformation experience, SK AX emphasized that successful AI innovation requires not only advanced technology but also strategic planning and operational frameworks.
The company argued that enterprises need integrated platforms capable of optimizing AI usage across entire organizations rather than limiting AI adoption to individual employees.
To support this vision, SK AX introduced its agentic AI platform, “AXgentic Wire NPO (New Paradigm for Operation).” The platform is designed to enable multiple AI agents to collaborate autonomously, orchestrating workflows while incorporating security, quality control, and cost management functions tailored for enterprise environments.
Participants at the conference noted that AI is moving beyond improving productivity to fundamentally transforming business processes.
“If digital transformation was about connecting data in the past, we are now entering an era where AI performs tasks directly based on that data,” said an executive from the manufacturing sector attending the event.
SK AX also showcased real-world implementation cases.
SK hynix has been working with SK AX to apply digital twin technologies to semiconductor manufacturing processes, aiming to build autonomous factories that enhance production efficiency and yield rates.
Global wind tower manufacturer CS Wind is utilizing AI integrated with shop-floor data to optimize production schedules and operational planning.
The financial sector is also embracing the trend. Shinhan Financial Group is developing personalized financial agent systems that meet stringent security and regulatory requirements, while global consulting firm Mercer is working on organizational models where AI and humans collaborate.
OpenAI, which has been expanding enterprise AI collaboration with SK AX, is also focusing on AI services capable of understanding internal enterprise data and workplace environments. Industry experts believe that future competitiveness in enterprise AI will be determined less by model performance and more by real-world deployment capabilities and operational expertise.
“The success of AI transformation depends on redesigning business processes around AI and converting organizational knowledge and experience into AI assets,” said Son Geon-il, Chief Customer Officer (CCO) of SK AX.
Cha Jiwon, Chief AI Innovation Officer (CAIO), added: “Corporate interest is shifting from which AI to adopt to how AI can be deployed in actual business operations. Execution models that combine data, systems, and industry expertise will ultimately determine competitiveness.”
Industry experts expect the conference to accelerate the evolution of corporate AI strategies in Korea, moving beyond generative AI adoption toward autonomous operations and AI-driven organizational innovation.
