Mirae Asset Global Investments announced on November 17 that it hosted the 38th “Mirae Asset Global Leader Expedition for Children,” a global finance, culture, and technology experience program, in Shanghai, China.

The program, offered to long-term investment customers, is one of the company’s flagship youth financial education and global exploration initiatives. Since its launch in 2006, it has grown into a long-running project with more than 13,900 cumulative participants.

This year, 150 students from grades four to six participated in two sessions held on November 6–9 and 13–16. The itinerary included visits to historical and cultural landmarks such as the former Korean Provisional Government building and the Bund, as well as a tour of the Oriental Pearl Tower in Pudong.

To help students understand future industries, the program also featured technology-focused experiences, including a visit to the world’s largest planetarium, hands-on activities related to China’s aerospace technology, and explorations at robotics experience centers. Mirae Asset Global Investments noted that the schedule was designed to give children direct exposure to global trends and advances in cutting-edge technology.

The company has also been expanding its lineup of investment products tailored for children and young investors. Its “Mirae Asset Our Kids 300 Million G1 Fund,” launched in 2005, has developed into the largest children’s fund in Korea. The portfolio was further strengthened with the “Our Kids Chindia Sector Leader Fund,” introduced in 2007 to capture the growth potential of China and India, and the “Our Kids TDF 2035,” launched in 2023 as Korea’s first target-date fund designed exclusively for minors.

Taekyung Sung, head of the ETF & Pension Platform at Mirae Asset Global Investments, stated, “We will continue expanding programs that combine financial education with real-world experience to help future generations grow into globally minded leaders.”

The Global Leader Expedition is operated through a youth financial fund created by allocating 15 percent of management and distribution fees from related Mirae Asset products. Participants are selected through recruitment processes conducted by distributors of the company’s “Our Kids” funds.
