LS ELECTRIC announced on Aug. 18 that it has signed a $34.26 million contract with Bloom Energy to supply power distribution solutions for a hyperscale data center project in Wyoming, the United States.

Under the agreement, LS ELECTRIC will provide low-voltage switchboards and other key power distribution systems for the data center power infrastructure project being developed by Bloom Energy for a major U.S. energy infrastructure company. The contract is valued at approximately 48.6 billion won.

The latest order expands LS ELECTRIC’s presence in the rapidly growing North American data center power infrastructure market, where investment is accelerating as artificial intelligence drives demand for large-scale computing capacity and electricity.

The company said the additional order from an existing customer reflects its power distribution technology, product quality and ability to meet demanding delivery schedules. LS ELECTRIC plans to strengthen its partnership with Bloom Energy as a key supplier of electrical equipment while pursuing further data center projects across North America.

Demand for electrical equipment has surged alongside the expansion of AI data centers, which require substantial and highly reliable power infrastructure. Hyperscale facilities in particular are creating new demand for transformers, switchgear and advanced distribution systems capable of supporting increasingly power-intensive computing environments.

LS ELECTRIC has been expanding its North American operations to capture that demand.

The company operates two major U.S. production bases — LS ELECTRIC Utah and its Bastrop Campus in Texas — as part of a localized value chain covering sales, engineering, manufacturing and services. The strategy is designed to improve delivery capabilities and provide faster support for customers pursuing large-scale power infrastructure projects.

LS ELECTRIC is also developing direct-current distribution technology as a potential next-generation solution for data centers.

At its Cheonan facility in South Korea, the company has established a “DC Factory,” a manufacturing facility incorporating direct-current power distribution. LS ELECTRIC is using the site to advance DC distribution technologies that could improve power efficiency as data centers accommodate increasingly dense AI computing infrastructure.

The expansion of its North American data center business is already contributing to record financial performance.

LS ELECTRIC posted second-quarter revenue of 1.577 trillion won and operating profit of 178.5 billion won, both reaching record quarterly levels. North American revenue climbed to approximately 400 billion won, also a quarterly record.

Its cumulative order backlog has surpassed 7 trillion won, providing additional visibility for future growth as investment in data centers and power infrastructure continues across major overseas markets.

The Wyoming contract also highlights LS ELECTRIC’s strategy of combining its established power distribution business with local U.S. manufacturing capacity and emerging DC technologies.

“This contract once again demonstrates the competitiveness of LS ELECTRIC’s high-quality power distribution solutions in the global data center power market,” a company official said.

“We will further strengthen our strategic partnership with Bloom Energy and actively utilize our local infrastructure to expand our share of the rapidly growing North American data center market,” the official added.

As AI investment increases electricity consumption and accelerates the construction of hyperscale facilities, power infrastructure is becoming a critical part of the global data center supply chain. LS ELECTRIC is positioning North America as a key growth market, seeking to translate its U.S. manufacturing footprint and power distribution capabilities into additional large-scale orders.
